Suspicions

Mrs Roman remained frozen in her spot with a pale face. She knew that her husband was bound to know about Eve's disappearance but not this early.

She looked at her husband who was still laughing like he thought any of this was funny and then at the maid whose head was still down as she cried her eyes out.

Alexander stopped laughing when he noticed his wife wasn't laughing along with him, his eyes remained on the maid kneeling before him.

"Since my wife is here why don't you tell her what you just told me?" He requested.

The maid shivered and dared not bring her head up, she didn't want to tell them what happened but at the same time, she knew she couldn't disobey her boss's order.

With her head on the cold ground, she recollected all that transpired between her and their daughter.

Mrs Roman was not surprised that Eve knocked the girl down, she had been taking a secret lesson in judo thinking nobody knew about it.
