A lady's letter

Spending my time drinking tea and talking with the duke sure is fun. If I were still in my original world, I would be buried with paperwork on my table… 

"Tch!" Stop reminiscing about the old working days Chae-won, it will not help me achieve my goals of changing Beatrice's death end. I need to save myself! … but for real though, I will miss Ms. Carmine Choi bringing me an Iced latte.

"Sigh…"

A knock came on the door. "My lady, it's me butler Hutson."

Oh, it is the butler who helped me shoo away the male lead.

"Come in" 

Hutson entered carrying a box full of papers…. It looks like a bunch of letters. "My lady, the letters sent by the people of the academy arrived earlier. I have not had the time to give it to you because I heard you are having a tea time with the duke. Do you want to see the letters or should I just burn them?" 

…burn them? … that is sad. I know how hard to write letters like letters for sick leave and approval, so I know it hurts so much to the sender if the receiver does not even take a look at it. "Put them on my desk, I shall deal with it now" 

"As you wish" The butler carefully dropped the letters on the table. "I shall take my leave" He bowed and swiftly left my room. 

Letters huh…and it's even from the people at the academy. Right now, I do not have the slightest idea of what part am I standing in the novel. The letters sent to me might give me some hints. I shall also take note that the crown prince's presence earlier looking for Beatrice is an important part of the novel.

The first letter came from the daughter of Viscount Stein, Miss Lea Stein. As far as I remember, the viscount and the Duke of Gasglow have a good relationship. Viscount Stein's family appearance in the novel might be few to none but their roles are all important. Especially that monster sighting in the academy at the first arc of the novel. The monster that the female lead fought which awakened her Holy powers…. Ugh, cliché. Anyway, If the timing is right, this letter may contain Ms. Lea's concern about the monster roaming near the female dorm. 

I used a knife to open the letter. 

[ A Pleasant day to you lady Beatrice, 

 I am Lea Stein, daughter of the viscount of Stein. I am writing my letter to you as a thank you to the whole Duchy of Gasglow for protecting our land from the monster raid last winter. When I saw you helping the duke in leading the Gasglow knights to subdue those monsters, my respect for you rose beyond the sky. Anyway, I did not write this letter to waste your important time so I will be direct. Last winter I saw what a monster looks like and I learned how a monster behaves to protect my viscounty for the future, that is why the moment I saw that shadow lurking around the academy dormitory I understood that there is a monster hiding there waiting to kill someone. I have written this letter to you to ask for your help.

P.S.: Please do forgive me if I am making your life more problematic than it has already been. Yes, I am aware of the rumors that the Crown Prince is showing his interest in the daughter of a Baron. That's stupid— anyway, again, forgive me if I am adding this monster problem to you. If you are interested in helping, please send me a letter back, I will be waiting. 

 —Sincerely, Lea Stein. ]

I am right, the letter contained the monster problem in the first arc. Maybe Beatrice in the past did not care about all these letters and burned them or maybe she talked to the crown prince the whole day for her to forget about her duty. Well, not that it matters anymore, I am Beatrice now, the one who would change everything and will create my happy ending! 

I rang the bell near my table. Butler Hutson arrived. "What can I help you, My lady?" 

"Bring me a lot of paper and a pen. Also, something to seal the letters I will be sending my reply to"

"Swiftly!"

Hutson came back faster than I expected. He looks old already but the way he moves felt like he is in his 20's or something. 

"Thanks, I shall call for you again later"

"Anytime" Hutson left.

Lea's letter to me is fun. It is not that formal or informal. I shall send back a letter.

[ It is Indeed a pleasant day, Miss Lea, 

 I received your letter and I am honored as well as the Duchy of Gasglow to receive your appreciation. Indeed, I am in quite a problematic time because of the Crown Prince and the rumors but the safety of the people comes first. As the daughter of the Gasglow duchy, I will help you with the monster problem as soon as I can. I will go to the academy tomorrow to meet with you, in that way we can plan our actions properly. 

 —Sincerely, Beatrice Gasglow. ]

After writing my letter to Ms. Lea I folded it and sealed it with the Gasglow emblem. I put it aside so I could check first the other letters and see if they needed to be replied to.

Some of the letters are just the academy reminding the students about their schedules and upcoming graduation parties.

"That's right… graduation." It is the start of the novel second arc. By that time, Beatrice has already vanished from the kingdom because of the evidence of her harassing the female lead and newly appointed crown princess. However, that is what was written in the second arc… in the 6th side story, it was shown that Beatrice is secretly killed by the female lead using the guillotine. I do not know how she managed to kill Beatrice but I am not letting her do that this time! 

Graduation will be held two months from now, the monster arc and the rumors that the Crown prince is showing interest in the female lead, as well as the awakening of the holy maiden are all in the first month. The second month will be Beatrice harassing the female lead. It might be because Beatrice felt threatened by her position as the crown princess, but what can we do… someone awakening as the holy maiden is something all kingdoms would do whatever they can to have. Anyways, the last day of that month will be the graduation, the crown prince will surely annul his engagement in front of everyone showing the evidence of Beatrice harassing the female lead. That is the day I will be vanished and killed. 

"Grrr… as if I'll let you do that!"

This is my life now; I will not be vanished or killed! 

I need to avoid repeating Beatrice's mistakes. I will help with the subduing of the monster in the academy— I do not know if my intervening with the first arc would still activate the female leads' holy powers, but at least Beatrice will not be seen as someone who does not care about her people. I also need to avoid starting a catfight with the female lead who would look as if I am harassing her. In the end, amid all my efforts, the crown prince and Beatrice's engagement will be annulled, in the very least it would be viewed as the crown prince's selfish thinking rather than me— Beatrice being a villain. I will not be vanished from the kingdom but I still need to be on high alert. I will never know if the female lead will still decide to finish me off.

I rang my bell again. 

Swiftly, Hutson arrived. I kind of getting used to his speed now

"Please send this letter to the Stein Viscounty, it's my letter for the Viscount daughter, Lea Stein"

Suddenly Huston eyes sparkled, it was as if he was crying. 

Why…?

"Please pardon my expression, my lady, it is just. You never sent a letter back to anyone. You always said that 'only the crown prince's letter should be held in high importance even if it is the end of the world!' But for you to send a letter now for someone other than the crown prince, and to a female as well… Our lady finally has a friend!" Huston ran outside crying and screaming to everyone that I finally had a friend

Help! I'm the one getting embarrassed!

Seriously, what are you doing Beatrice?!
