Boom!
Suddenly, a massive explosion erupted at the site of the shelving units.
The intense blaze instantly engulfed Brown, the formidable impact of the explosion hurling him several meters away. His body was charred, blood oozing from various parts of his body, and one of his hands was even blasted off!
"Aah!"
Brown could only let out a scream of agony before his life was consumed by the terrifying explosion.
This figure, a growing power in the post-apocalyptic world, immersed in his grand plans and ambitions, met his unclear and sudden demise.
The explosion didn't just claim Brown's life; it also flung several of his nearby men, including the sniper.
The sniper, initially using the shelving as cover to take down Charles, didn't anticipate that he would be a victim of David's floating bomb before he could even act.
His fate was particularly gruesome. The bomb, detonated some distance from him, didn't kill him outright but left him severely mutilated, barely clinging to life. Tiny shrapnel pierced his body, releasing excruciating pain like dust particles inside him.
"Damn it, an ambush!"
Aaron, witnessing the scene, was engulfed in rage. Just as he was about to order an attack on Charles, a similar explosion occurred on him!
Boom!
A massive blast originated from his neck, instantly decapitating him. Until the end, his eyes reflected unstoppable rage and a flicker of surprise. The brutal explosion, originating from within his body, tore him apart in a moment of intense agony.
Charles's eyes revealed deep shock. He knew David was strong, but he never imagined this level of power. Killing from miles away, it was like the hand of God!
Charles was relieved he hadn't provoked David. His men, initially questioning his respect towards David, now fully understood and appreciated Charles's decision.
If Charles hadn't recognized David's extraordinary abilities, the ones blindly killed in the explosion would have been them!
The scene stunned not only Charles and his men but also Brown's people in the warehouse.
They couldn't comprehend what had happened. Their boss was dead, the second-in-command was dead, and their strongest sniper was also gone.
In fear of experiencing a similar fate, they didn't even retaliate against Charles. After all, they had followed Brown only for survival, not to die for a dead man.
"Everyone inside, lay down your weapons and surrender!" Charles knew this was the best time to take control and shouted his command, assuring their safety if they surrendered.
Seeing Brown's fate, the people in the warehouse exchanged fearful glances, eventually throwing down their weapons and raising their hands in surrender.
The previous scene was too horrific; several had died without even understanding what had happened.
Was it a grenade thrown by the enemy?
No, they hadn't seen anything thrown.
It was as if the air itself had exploded, instantly turning the robust Brown into a dead man.
The sniper's fate was even worse. He lay there, emitting a weak and painful wail, about to die.
The most tragic was Aaron, with the explosion originating inside his body, blasting him into pieces. It was as if a grenade had been detonated inside him!
In that moment, Brown's men lost all will to resist. They absolutely did not want to end up like that.
Charles's men stormed into the warehouse. Charles, walking slowly, murmured to himself, "David, you're incredible."
David didn't respond, but Charles was too shocked to care.
He walked into the warehouse, seeing the remaining cans of food. Approaching a plump man who was among the first to surrender and a high-ranking member of Brown's group, Charles squatted down and questioned him:
"Why provoke him of all people? Could you really handle someone like him?"
The plump man, too scared to speak, just looked terrified. Charles chuckled:
"Speak up, what were you planning to do?"
The man, fearing for his life, spilled all of Brown's plans.
Charles listened amusedly and then stood up, saying to his confidant Jacob:
"See? These are the plans of ordinary people. But those of us with David are no longer ordinary."
Jacob agreed, praising Charles's wisdom in leading them on the right path.
Charles then shot the plump man, ordering:
"Take their weapons. Let's go back."
"What about these people?" Jacob asked, referring to the hundred or so who had surrendered in the warehouse.
"Do you really want to kill them all?" Charles shook his head, "The military is nearby. Causing too much disturbance would only draw their full attention. It's better not to leave an impression of being a 'bloodthirsty anti-humanity' group."
Without their weapons, they posed no threat.
"Oh, and one more thing," Charles added as he approached the warehouse door, "Leave them food for one day."
