Supplicate For Help

"While you were busy fighting team yellow, we were practicing really hard, you know? Here, let us show you!"

Elara didn't waste any time after that and pulled out a fan which she swung threw the air. It almost reminded of a dance. Her movements precise and graceful, as she spinned around. Her movements seemed to create a giant tornado in front of her. It's size was comparable to a small skyscraper and without a word, the whole team red shot at it with a beam of fire. Transforming it into a fire tornado. The massive spinning wall of fire cut them off from team blue completely, and slowly closed in on them.

Arina, visibly taken aback by the scale of their attack, backed up a little. Yuki just smirked, slightly impressed though.

"What are we supposed to do against that!?"

"If I take that out, can you start attacking them head on?"

"I guess… But how will you take THAT out!?"

"Watch and learn, bestie number two~"

Yuki started levitating, without her wings of course, and started spinning around herself with her arms extended at an incredible speed. Her motion, supported with mana, created a tornado of equal size. She then pulled in water from the river near by where they had been searching for supplies previously, creating a giant waterspout with her at its center that clashed with the massive fire tornado. For a moment it looked like they were roughly equal in strength and just canceling each other out. But soon Yuki's waterspout and the fire tornado fused together and grew into one super massive storm of both fire and water.

Everyone else just watched in awe as all the fire just disappeared and even though team red was pouring in new fire constantly, it seemed like it didn't matter at all. Soon all that was left was Yuki, surrounded by water. Once she made sure that it was just her, she dropped the entire amount of water and quickly flew down towards Yamato and Arina and casted a barrier around them.

Now Elara and the rest were now faced with roughly 8.000.000 kg (17.637.000 lbs) of water falling of the sky onto them. Yuki's barrier blocked all the water effortlessly, while Elara and the rest had to form a barrier together that barely held. All the trees near by were just ripped out of the ground and carried away, leaving the ground muddy and hardly recognizable as a forest.

Now with all the water and fire gone, Arina was able to rush forward, just that this time she didn't have a stick that she could enchant, and all the trees around were carried away. Searching for one would take too long, so she would just have to manage without one.

Elara and the rest were still recovering from the massive impact, which Arina used to rush towards them. Team red however used their fire magic again. Now like flamethrowers to keep Arina on distance while Elara and he friends levitated into the air and shot ice pillars, similar to the one prof. Reed used against Yuki, but significantly smaller. Arina just barely managed to dodge by falling back. Team red started pushing forward like a wall, while team purple continued pushing Arina back.

Suddenly, Yuki appeared behind team red. She was able to move around their wall of fire incredibly fast, before anyone could notice with Arina as distraction. But Elara did manage to react just in time, as she flew down and blocked Yuki who was about to shoot a beam of ice at team red.

"I must say, I'm truly impressed, Elara!"

"Why thank you! You were also quite amazing."

"Are you that interested in becoming team leader?"

"Oh, so you found that rule too?"

"Sure did."

Elara flew up and backed up to swing her fan again and shoot air projectiles at Yuki. Yuki flew after her and dodged all the projectiles while doing so. Elara was much more skilled than Yuki had anticipated. Everyone in this class was actually. She found it hard to believe that this was the average talent of this world. This school really was for gifted people. But no matter how gifted they were, they would never reach her. She was convinced of that. After all, she was holding back.

As Elara and Yuki's battle moved up into the air, Arina and Yamato where left with the remaining five. Arina was pushed back all the way back to Yamato, who has just been standing there this entire time.

"Care to help me now?"

"Hm… This does look tricky."

"Great, thank you. Let's just give up then."

"Good idea."

"What!?"

He walked up towards team purple and red with his hands up and his armband in his hand.

"Hey, we give up."

Everyone looked stunned, though Elara and Yuki were too far above to notice what was happening. Team red momentarily stopped their fire attack and team purple flew down to confront him. They were really suspicious.

"What do you think you are doing?"

"I'm giving up. Here's my armband."

"What about Arina and Yuki?"

"Well, Yuki is a all the way up there, but Arina can give up with me now."

"Like I'd ever do that!"

"Oh, looks like just I will be surrendering."

"And why would we trust you?"

"Because of that…"

He threw the armband onto the ground before them.

"Once you pick it up, it counts as me having lost my armband, meaning I'll be disqualified and teleported out of the barrier. If you wonder why, I just don't like pain all that much, you know? So since I don't see a way to beat you guys, I am going to take the least painful option. Makes sense, right?"

"I guess…"

"Common, aren't we all classmates here?"

They seem hesitant at first, but eventually take the armband. Off the ground and then move back in a group formation to see what happens.

To their surprise, Yamato didn't disappear. Instead a voice echoed through the barrier.

"Student Arina Estrela Caída: Disqualified!"

Everyone looked over in confusion towards Arina, but all that was left was a armband in the mud. Suddenly the armband they took from Yamato exploded, and since they were in such close formation, everyone got hit.

"Oh, that's right. I forgot, that wasn't my armband. It was Arina's. Silly me."

The explosion left everyone unconscious but unharmed due to the protection spell on the armbands. Yamato calmly walked up to each student and took their armbands off. Causing them all to disappear and a voice echoing through the barrier.

"Student Rika Niwa: Disqualified! Student Aoi Miyata: Disqualified!

Student Kyo Kaneko: Disqualified! Student Chiasa Sakai: Disqualified! Student Keiichi Isobe: Disqualified! Team red: Disqualified!"

Once Yamato picked up the armband that he gave them previously, Arina reappeared infront of him. A voice echoed through the barrier.

"Student Arina Estrela Caída: Revived!"

Arina looked slightly confused about what just happened, even more so when she saw that Yamato was alone.

"Hey, Arina. Could you tell me where you went when you disappeared?"

"I… Uh, Sure… On a mountain outside of the barrier… Prof. Isaac and prof. Reed are both there overseeing the exercise. All the disqualified students are inside of tents… But now I ask questions! Why did I disappear when you gave them your armband!? And where is everyone??"

"Well, I switched our armbands, so when I gave away my armband, it was actually yours. As to what happened to everyone, I used magic to make your armband a bomb."

"Actually Yuki made it into a bomb, but this way it's more plausible why I didn't use magic so far."

"And why would you switch our armbands!?"

"To protect you, of course. Since you were fighting at the front this entire time, figured making you invincible would only protect you."

"How was I invincible…?"

"Because even if you lost your armband in battle, you wouldn't have disappeared because I had your armband. So your armband was never in the hands of another team. You also still were under the protection spell through my armband, so it really only had benefits."

"Ah… I… I'm sorrry. I jumped to conclusions and didn't value your protection… But what I don't understand, if the armbands work like that, can't we just all switch armbands and be invincible? Or hide them somewhere so we can't get disqualified?"

"No, the armbands need to be close to the original owner. I tested it last night with Yuki. Also, even if that weren't the case, the protection on them is too valuable. And they could be found by a wandering team too by coincidence, and it's just overall not worth the risk."

"Ah… I guess that makes sense…"

Meanwhile far up in the sky, at the highest the barrier allowed them to rise, Yuki and Elara where still fighting. When the voice first declared Arina to be disqualified, Elara felt victory closing in.

"Looks like it's just Yamato down there now. You might want to go down there and help him out because otherwise he might-…"

She was cut off at the second announcement of the voice, declaring everyone of team red and everyone besides Elara of team purple disqualified. Followed by the revival of Arina.

"What!?"

"Hehe, looks like you underestimated us~"

"I…"

She was in utter shock and disbelieve. One moment it was just Yuki and Yamato against the entire team red and purple, the next it was just her against Yuki, Yamato and Arina who was back as well. Although she was the strongest out of the alliance she had made, if Yamato just defeated all of them at once, realistically, what chance did she stand? She didn't even know how he did it, so she couldn't prepare if it was some sort of spell. She didn't see any other options, so she swallowed her pride and…

"I give up…"

"Yay~"

"Don't get cocky…"

She took her armband off and threw it to Yuki. Upon catching it, Elara disappeared and a voice echoed through the barrier.

"Students Elara Luminara; Disqualified! Team purple: Disqualified!"

Yuki flew down again, only to see that there were three people infront of Yamato and Arina. The last team they needed to defeat to win the exam was standing right infront of them.
