Clark's first reaction was to think of Olivia Turner and Emma Kensington. He had been trying to find them, but so far, he hadn't obtained any useful information. The Black Claw was too mysterious, and he couldn't imagine the current situation of the two.

"Many large city-states have a black market for humans, usually kept secret underground. The human black market is beneficial for the rulers; it attracts people from other city-states, stimulates the exchange of goods, and allows for the controlled influx and release of population, making governance more effective!" Steven said coldly. "However, anyone sold in the human trafficking trade will be marked as a slave and will no longer be treated as a human!"

Clark remained silent. He could imagine that kind of life, never expecting that in this post-apocalyptic world, humanity would once again revert to that dark age.
