I Like It This Way

Tang Monk remained silent, feeling admiration for the old man.

"Old man, I express my gratitude on behalf of the Bodhisattva!" Tang Monk spoke respectfully.

The old man continued to smile.

After finishing their meal, he tidied up the dishes and went outside.

By now, night had silently descended, enveloping the sky and earth in darkness. The crescent moon in the sky was shrouded by dark clouds, appearing intermittently.

It was a dark and windy night!

A strong wind had picked up at some point, howling through the air. Tang Monk stood by the window and could see the trees outside swaying in the gusty wind.

Dark clouds covered the sky; a storm was imminent.

Despite the poverty of the old man's home and the lack of items in the courtyard, with only the four walls, they weren't vulnerable to the wind.

As time passed, the night grew deeper, reaching midnight.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Suddenly, loud knocking echoed from outside the courtyard, accompanied by noisy shouts.
