Not Strong Enough

"Weak?" muttered Raphael and I could feel him stepping out of the circle of my mates to come stand beside me. Gripping my upper arm, he tugged me gently out of Brielle's embrace.

The llama let me go, but I knew she was ready to kill the wolf in front of us in a matter of seconds.

"She took out two wolves in a challenge she knew nothing about until you all issued it. Which part of her is weak?" asked Raphael softly. While the arm he had around my waist was soft, his entire body was tense.

I don't think I had ever seen him like this before. And given the fact that I had witnessed the disrespect from his pack before, I have to admit that I was a little impressed.

Once again, silence descended the hall. Rahael's breathing was starting to get on my last nerve, the ratting in her chest as she struggled to take in air, acting like nails on a chalkboard.

Patting Raphael's arm, he reluctantly let me go.
