Part One - Third Year - Chapter [026]

When we arrived, the place was an absolute mess, and the people were clearly distraught.

It took some time before we were able to catch our senses, he let go of my hand, and I let go of his.

He paused, inhaled, and with almost a sonic boom voice let out a giant roar.

"What the fuck is going on?!" he exclaimed with such power it also took me aback.

The place went silent.

Instantly an armada of clamoring riffled bodies came swimming towards him, each of them with their problem. Paperwork containing quests and all too urgent matters was being shoved in his face.

"Captain, please the highlands report an increasing number of miasma geothermal readings." spoke a man

"Captain, the town of Luxenberg has lost all power - they're in total blackout and monsters are lurking about." spoke a lady

"Captain, urgent S rank quest they're asking for help up north _"

I couldn't help but look at the scene with bewildering eyes, for some reason he looked, like with every chatter, every voice that joined the chorus, he seemed farther and farther away. It was like I was being sucked right out of his bubble

"Everyone stop!" He exclaimed - the chorus came to a stop and everyone just hung on his next words.

"I'll go speak with the High Lord - you guys hang tight in the meantime, do whatever you can to take action, all of this - in due time."

He was so calm. Even I could already feel the anxiety throughout the room; I looked around, and some were already talking on the phones to do whatever they could. Others were gathering to join strength.

'Aiden - with me," he glared

'I-"

"That's an order!" His words were cold.

This was an Arslan I didn't know.

I obeyed.

I couldn't help but follow him.

The room felt silent again- but this time all eyes were on me. I could feel their disapproving stares.

Some of them were jealous.

Warriors with no minders or inamorato alike scoffed at me.

This felt next level - the next level of the walk of shame.

I lowered my head and just tugged at Arslan, he didn't seem to mind.

Soon we walked into the castle and through a corridor leaving the messannine behind.
