Chapter 163: Alone

As night fell, I had asked Celine to help escort Rosemary out of Darius' castle.

Not as a ploy, but as a genuine and confident request.

Said request had been met with a little astonishment when she saw Rosemary's bag and when I told her that Rosemary wouldn't be returning.

Of course she immediately made it plain to me she would be asking Darius first, which...I did not falter against.

Upon returning, I knew with a hundred percent certainty Darius would let Rosemary go.

But, as I found Celine coming back, ready to tell me what he had decided, I felt myself somewhat quivering, no matter how hard I tried to trust in him and myself.

And alas, when she told me what Darius had said, I...felt my heart further rend in half.

Because it was finally official, that Rosemary would be leaving me.

I was in too much pain to appreciate and or be happy for the fact that Darius accepted my request.
