Chapter 172: Departure

It's hot, too hot for it to be early in the morning, but yet, the time is barely past six and I feel myself to be a cube of ice, melting away faster than a speed car.

This is what I feel, I believe this to be true, unfortunately I can't tell if the day is really hot, or it's just my body reacting negatively to what is going on.

I turn my eyes, not my head, in every direction, scanning each wolf as they move back and forth, loading or unloading one thing or another onto the small ship standing and or floating just a dozen feet or so away from me.

I carefully scrutinise each worker, and each time I find in repetition the same result.

Not even a single drop of sweat on their brows.

"How long will you keep standing there?" Celine's voice jerks me from my thoughts. Despite that, I'm unable to turn.

So I don't try, neither do I speak.

She makes it to my side, stands erect and keeps her gaze straight ahead.
