Chapter 180: The Island

Whatever it is I felt when I first encountered those marine creatures, whatever it was I felt when I first laid eyes on the island, everything has been dialed up to 11 as the ship approaches its sandy shores.

I stand on the ship's haul frozen in place.

The salty air lashes against my face and the ship's smooth sailing has been reverted to an unsteady and erratic buoyant upheaval.

I try to keep calm, but I feel my nerves failing me.

Most especially as these indescribable whispers chant words in my ears, which I can't understand.

As the seconds pass and we get closer, I feel like every bone in my body is about to shatter.

In this moment, I've become a moth caught in a hurricane.

I try with every ounce of my strength to keep myself together, but the closer we get, the more I feel I'll lose my sanity.

This crippling fear and this strange pull, a mix of water and oil.

What is even happening to me?
