My blissful dream doesn't last long, as I find I'm wide awake before the dream even started.
At least that is what I had thought, but when I find Darius lying beside me, completely asleep, I believe I've been asleep far longer than I assumed.
Darius…is right in front of me, I have the opportunity to search his mind.
I raise my hand to his head, once again hesitating to do so.
I need to do this, I need to find out the location of those wolves.
With this thought, my hand finds a semblance of strength to keep making its way toward Darius' head.
But when my hand is just a minute away from his head, I falter and place my hand on his cheek instead.
I…don't want to do this.
Not now.
I know what's at stake, but…I just, want to sleep today.
My hand soaks in the warmth of his skin, a warmth which spreads from my finger tips, to my palm, till I can feel it across my arm.
I too soak in this warmth, and I shut my eyes.
