After they all settled for a truce, they all went outside the barn towards the study where the computer was setup.
All of them are inside, except Monica sitting outside on the bench and Maria trying to stop her from coming.
"Why can't I listen to? Why do Faust can?" Monica protested.
Then she heard a young voice inside "Because I'm a half grown up!"
Monica rolled her eyes and put earplugs in her ears. Seeing this, Maria walks inside and they waited for her to play the tape. Maria puts the CD in the computer tower and the computer begins loading the tape. A loading bar appears on the screen, with the bar moving slowly across the screen.
"What's happening?" Carol asked in confusion.
"It's loading." Fury replied.
Faust chimed in and said. "It sucks right? One day I'll build computer processor myself many time faster than the current computers."
After waiting for a few minutes, the tape almost finish loading.
Then a digital audio players comes to the screen and they are the recording.
Lawson (audio): Punch in the coordinates. 5229, -47, 8.768, 0.2.
Carol (audio): Copy that. Where are we going Doc?
Lawson (audio): My laboratory.
Faust couldn't help to interrupt. "Did she say Lavatory? Is she going to piss during the flight?"
Carol was annoyed by the interruption and she glared at him.
"It's me who's going to be pissed if you don't shut up. It's Laboratory, not Lavatory."
"Ohhh oh, sorry. Geez, I'm just asking." Faust murmurred.
Fury just shook his head and asked Maria to play it back a little bit. Then they continued to listen.
Lawson (audio): Punch in the coordinates. 5229, -47, 8.768, 0.2.
Carol (audio): Copy that. Where are we going Doc?
Lawson (audio): My laboratory.
Vers (audio): Your laboratory? What do you mean?
Lawson (audio): Oh no.
Vers (audio): Is that... Wait, what is that? It's not showing up on my radar.
Lawson (audio): Go Carol. Fly!
"I could swear I heard 'lavatory'" Faust continued to murmur in a low voice in the corner.
Carol on the other hand, now remembers everything that happened six years ago.
--
After a while, Carol rushed outside of the study breathing heavily and confused.
"He lied to me." Carol said trying to keep her emotions.
Maria, Fury, Talos and Faust followed her outside slowly.
"Everything that I knew was a lie." Carol burst into tears.
"Now you understand." Talos said.
"What? What do I understand now?" Carol was more confused when she heard him.
"Yon-Rogg killed Mar-Vell. He killed her. Because she found out that she was on the wrong side of an unjust war." Talos explained.
Carol couldn't accept it and said with determination, "No! Your people are terrorists... that kill innocents. I saw the ruins on Torfa."
"Ruins that the Accusers are responsible for. My people lived as refugees on Torfa. Homeless, ever since we resisted Kree rule and they destroyed our planet. Now the handful of us that are left, will be slaughtered next...unless you will help me finish what Mar-Vell started. The coordinates you found, would've powered a lightspeed ship capable of carrying us to safety. A new home, where the Kree can't reach us."
Maria chimed in and said, "Lawson always told us that her work at Pegasus wasn't to fight wars, but to end them."
"She wanted you to help us find the core." Talos added.
"Well, I already destroyed it."
Talos disagreed with her and said "No, you destroyed the engine. The core that powered it is in a remote location. If you help us decode those coordinates, we can find it."
"You'll use it to destroy us." Carol said not trusting him.
"We just want a home. You and I lost everything at the hands of the Kree. Can't you see it now? You're not one of them." Talos sighed helplessly.
"You don't know me. You have no idea who I am. I don't even know who I am!" Carol shouted.
"I do!" Faust said and continued, "This may sound cringy but, you're my friend. That's what you are. "
"Of course if you want a little more than friends you gotta wait for a few years, lady."
When Carol heard what he said, she couldn't keep her drama and laugh out loud. "You are annoying as ever."
Faust just grinned at her when he saw her smile.
Maria approach her and look her in her eyes before saying, "You are Carol Danvers. You are the woman on that black box risking her life to do the right thing. My best friend... who supported me as a mother, and a pilot when no one else did. You're smart and funny, and a huge pain in the ass. And you are the most powerful person I knew, way before you could shoot fire from your fist. You hear me? You hear me?"
Carol nodded and Maria came forward to hug her.
--
After the drama ended, they went back inside the barn and sat at the dining room to discuss their plans.
"I know I don't deserve your trust but you were our only lead. We discovered that your energy signature matched Mar-Vell's core. Now, we know why. If only you knew, the importance of it to me. I just need your help decoding the coordinates to Mar-Vell's lab." Talos said sincerely.
"Those weren't coordinates. They're safe vectors." Carol replied.
"Orbital positioning and velocity." Fury added.
"Like a satellite, if you still don't get it." Faust chimed in.
"You didn't find her lab on Earth, because it's not on Earth." Maria explained.
"That was the location on the day of the crash six years ago. If we track its course, we'll find it, in orbit, right now."
"It's just basic physics." Maria and Faust both said at the same time. They looked at each other then chuckled.
Then Talos and the rest turned towards the Skrull scientists and asked, "In orbit? Was that so difficult to figure out? I mean, you're my science guy, right?"
The Skrull scientists nods then looks down briefly, disappointed in himself.
"Hey give him some slack. Sometimes, the simplier the answer is, the harder to find." Faust defended that poor guy.
All of them stared dumbfounded at Faust.
"What, you are doubting my wisdom mortals?" Faust sneered.
"Now we have an additional Philosophy guy." Fury scoffed.
Then Carol went back to the topic, "Yon-Rogg will catch up to you soon. We've got to get the core before he does."
Fury nodded while eating a sandwich, "Mmm. We're going to space?"
"In what?" Carol helplessly asked.
Then the Skrull scientist suddenly said, "A few tweaks to your vessel should do it. I can handle the modifications."
"Can I join? I mean, I could be your assistant if you don't mind?" Faust suddenly said with an excited look.
Then Skrull Scientist nodded and they both went outside.
Fury snickered, "Hmm. Your science guy."
Talos shook his head in disappointment.
----
Eventually, Fury and Talos followed the scientist and Faust towards the Hanger.
As the Skrull scientist and Faust was busy modifying the aircraft they've used to escaped Pegasus, Talos joined in to help.
When Talos was out of range, Faust went closer to the scientist and whispered. " Thank you for teaching me this. As thanks, I'd like to tell you a little secret which might save your life."
The Skrull scientist was confused and decided to continue listening.
"Do you know that the blood running through the veins of Carol isn't human? It was Yon-Rogg's." Faust said while twitching his eyebrows up and down.
Then he look left and right to check if there's a bald woman dressed as a monk or some guys with brown jacket will appear suddenly.
After confirming that everything is alright, he heaved a sighed of relief.
On other hand, although fascinated by the discovery, the scientis was still confused on how this was gonna save his life.
Hours flew by and they've finally completed the modification of the aircraft. Faust gained a lot during the process.
When Faust saw Carol's new look, he said "Wow, you look heroic! Nice color combination."
"See, big brother Faust liked it." Monica said while Carol just smiled.
Monica suddenly asked, "Big brother Faust, I was just curious, why are you with them? Do you have a superpowers like Aunt Carol? "
"Uhhh I don't know either why am I still here. As for superpowers? I do have it."
"Really? What's your superpowers?" Monica asked excitedly.
"I'm rich." Faust grinned at the fact that he was able to steal the line of a famous superhero.
Then Carol chimed in and added, "And super annoying."
Monica laughed while Faust glared at her.
A few hours later, they started to prepare and get ready for their space travel.
--
Three hours after they left for space, Yon-Rogg arrived on earth. Walking out of his space ship, Yon-Rogg steps onto the path and walks down into a small house in the middle of the forest. Carol, in her Kree colors, is already standing inside and watches him enter.
Fake Carol asked, "What took you so long?"
"I'm fine. Thanks for asking." Yon-Rogg replied.
Fake Carol then started to speak a series of code, "PRY46-B..."
Yon-Rogg interuppted her and said, "No, no codes. That system is fallible, as we've learned."
Fake Carol accepted it, "Okay, then let's do this."
Yon-Rogg asked, "Who do I see when I commune with the Supreme Intelligence?"
Fake Carol confidently replied, "The person you most admire and respect, I guess. But you would never tell me who."
"And what is your earliest memory of Hala?"
Fake Carol answered, "The transfusion. Blue blood running through my veins."
Yon-Rogg followed up, "Whose blood?"
Fake Carol looks sideways, confused and stumbed, "Hmm.."
Yon-Rogg suddenly shoots Fake Carol, causing her to fly backward. Yon-Rogg then walks up to her and points his gun at her face.
Yon-Rogg answered his own question, "That's my blood that's coursing through her veins."
Fake Carol suddenly turns into a Skrull.
"What have you done with her?" Yon-Rogg questioned him.
But the Skrull didn't answer and said, "You're too late."
Yon-Rogg begins walking away before stopping and turning around.
Yon-Rogg asked, "She knows?"
Before the Skrull can answer, Yon-Rogg shoots him. He puts his gun back in its holster before calling Ronan with the hologram in his arm.
"Ronan, Skrulls have infiltrated C-53. Come at once."
Then he received a reply, "For the good of all Kree, Commander the infestation will be eradicated."
--------
Meanwhile, at the modified spaceship, Faust saw the skrull scientist was still with them. He was confused at the moment and when suddenly, he realized something.
'Oopsie..... it looks like I gave the spoiler to the wrong skrull. I'm pretty sure it's not my fault. Why do they have to look the same anyway. ' He said inwardly.
At this time, they are flying above the clouds heading towards the space.
Fury was petting Goose and Talos looking at Fury uncomfortably.
"Passing 500 and climbing." Carol reported.
"Uhmmm can anyone tell why am I still here?" Faust asked but they ignored him.
Talos couldn't take it anymore and said, "You know, you really shouldn't have that thing on your lap."
"Our little alliance with you is tenuous at best. And as long as he continues to freak you out..."
Fury picks up Goose and shoves him towards Talos' face and Talos jerks backward in his seat.
"...like that, yeah I'm gonna keep giving him all the love and hugs he needs, right?"
Maria looked at Talos and asked in curiosity, "Can I ask you something? Do you just turn into anything you want?"
"Ah well, I have to see it first." Talos replied.
"Can you all do it?"
"Physiologically, yeah. But it takes practice and, um, dare I say it, talent to do it well." Talos explained.
Fury suddenly asked, "Can you turn into a cat?"
"What's a cat?" Talos asked in confusion.
Faust chimed in asked, "How about a Cow?"
Talos was still confused and ask, "What's that?"
"What about a filing cabinet?" Maria followed another question.
"Why would I turn into a filing cabinet?" Talos now was getting annoyed because of their questions.
But Fury still continued, "A venus fly trap. I'll give you $50 right now if you turn into a venus fly trap."
Talos sighs, annoyed at Fury's jokes.
Then they head Carol reporting to the comms, "Switching engines from Scramjet to fusion. Buckle up, folks."
Carol pushes down a lever, causing the plane to suddenly climb further into the sky. In the plane, everybody is pushed back into their seats.
"Hey. Is this normal, like space turbulence?" Fury asked nervously.
Carol smiles at Fury's question and said "Pretty much."
Talos just looks towards him and shakes his head. The plane continues to fly directly upwards. Inside the plane everything begins floating. Carol and Maria's hair begins floating along with a few pens from the console between their seats. Similarly, Goose is floating upside down until Fury extends his arm, which Goose eagerly grabs onto. Faust was swimming in the air breast stroke style. Maria then flicks a switch and gravity suddenly turns on inside the plane, and everything returns to normal.
"Aw! That hurt!" Faust shouted from the ground.
Carol reported, "Locking in coordinate grid."
"Where is it?" Maria asked in confusion as saw nothing, just an expanse of void and stars.
"It's here. It's gotta be here." Talos also looked unsure.
Then Faust said, "Maybe it's in a camouflage state. If it's not, then it would be found long ago."
Carol also realizes this and pulls out the computer in her arm. After a few swipes, the computer lights up.
"Decloaking activated..."
Suddenly, a bright light appears from the empty space and a massive laboratory becomes visible. The title "Mar-Vell's Laboratory, Kree Imperial Cruiser" appears in front of them.
