Chapter 15: Mr. Locke

The clattering sound can be heard in my room. I'm packing my stuff one by one, trying to fit it all into my bag. However, it seems I'm in a little trouble.

My stuff doesn't fit in my bag. simply because I organized them wrong or because I have too many items. The sight of the bag is like a person with too much food in their mouth.

The zipper is widely open, and my things are hanging around it. I stood up and gave my head a scratch.

"I give up," I muttered.

Surrending my struggles, I went into Neerial's room. The door is open widely, and I see Neerial has already organized her stuff.

"Neerial, I see that you aren't doing anything for the moment." I leaned on the wall of her door and gave her a smile.

She glared at me and asked, "What do you want?"

I toyed around on the door with my index finger and asked gently. "Well, I have a problem putting my things into the bagpack. Whatever I do, my things won't fit in it."

Neerial sighed and said, "Fine, show me."

I led her into my room, and what awaited her was a bagpack that looked like it would spit out all of my clothes.

Neerial once again gave a sigh of exhaustion and fixed my stuff silently.

"Neerial, you're amazing! All that stuff fits into my bag!" I said in full amusement, waving my arms in the air and wearing my bagpack on like a child.

"Why are men so bad at this stuff?" Neerial asked.

"Don't blame men; it's just me alone that's terrible with this. My friend, Karma, usually packs his stuff organized," I bragged.

"Karma... you mean Karma Cloud?" Neerial asked.

"Yeah, surely you heard of him. The three-class adventurer," I said.

"Indeed, I have; you two were the talk of the city when I got here," said Neerial.

"I wonder how he's doing," I muttered.

Karma and I haven't seen each other since the time we separated. I'm also sure that, like me, he's also using an alias. I hope I'll get to see him soon.

"You two must be close," said Neerial.

"Yep, he's my best friend!" I said proudly with a smile.

Neerial didn't speak any further and gave me a smile. She stood up and gave me a pat on the shoulder.

"I'll double check my stuff, then let's head together," Neerial said.

"Got it," I replied.

Neerial made her way back to her room. I've put my bagpack down and sat on the bed in my room. I waited for Neerial to get ready, and we made our way to the gate of Wyourld City.

.

.

.

We're currently at the gate of Wyourld City, where the carriage that will bring us to Conheart City is waiting for us.

When we arrived, a man in his thirties greeted me and Neerial.

"You must be Christ and Neerial," he said, giving me a handshake. "I'm Kooper Locke; I'll be the one who'll take you to Conheart City without any problems."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Locke. I'll be taking that offer," I said.

.

.

.

We're currently on our way to Conheart City. We're inside the carriage with our stuff and many boxes inside of it. Out of curiosity, I decided to ask about them.

"Mr. Locke, why are you carrying around so many boxes?" I asked.

"Oh, those are deliveries for the people of Conheart. I deliver packages for a living," Mr. Locke said.

The weather is clear and bright, and the sun can be seen shining in the sky. Neerial is sitting beside me. looking at the sky as a form of entertainment.

"Christ." Neerial suddenly called me.

"What is it?" I asked.

She turned around and put her hands on her thighs. With a glare, she said, "I'm bored!"

I sighed. I can't believe this woman. What did you expect? That there's an entertainer singing for us in the middle of the road?

Even I'm bored out of my mind. That's basically the reason why I asked Mr. Locke about the boxes. Because I'm getting the urge to open them one by one.

Thinking all of these thoughts, I somehow managed to keep up a smile. pretending I'm not thinking anything about her.

"Then you want me to sing?" I said with a smile.

Neerial widened her eyes; she couldn't believe what I just said. I mean, fairly, I can sing, and I know I have a talent for it.

"You can sing?! Go!" Neerial said with excitement written all over her face.

I let out a cough, trying to get into the zone. I opened my mouth slowly and sang the lyrics of one of my favorite songs.

I sang with all my might, not holding anything back. I wave my hands as if I'm on a show. I made a gesture into the air with my hands. Finishing it with a magnificent bow.

"Well?" I asked.

I looked at Neerial, and I could see her covering her ears. Her body is covered up like a ball, and she's hiding in the corner of the carriage.

On my sight are the birds that fell on the ground, twitching from pain.

Neerial finally mustered up the courage to look up. She glared at me while grinding her teeth.

"YOU SUCK!"

Figures, this happens every time I sing in my class. Karma is also aware of this; that's why he's doing everything in his power to ban me from singing.

But I don't care! I know I'm good at singing! People just don't appreciate it!

"Don't ever! Ever! Ever! Sing a single word ever again!" Neerial angrily said.

She pressed her index finger right into my chest, pushed me into the backrest of the carriage, and gave me a threat.

"Sing again, and I'll end you," Neerial said.

"Oh, come on! You're overreacting!" I replied.

She pulled her blade from her back and pointed it into my neck.

"Got it," I said.

"I actually agree with Ms. Neerial on this one, Mr. Christ," Mr. Locke said.

Apparently he was also affected by my singing; it seemed like he was confused by it.

I touched my chin, wondering about my singing. Maybe, just maybe. I can use my singing as a weapon to confuse my enemies. I smiled brightly, admiring my idea. Until a blade was pointed at my neck. Neerial, who's observing me, pointed it out again.

"Don't! even! think! about it!" said Neerial.

I frowned and pushed her blade away.

"Alright, I won't do it." I said that while pouting silently.

As we talk in the carriage, A strange figure wearing a dark green cloth is standing in our way. The carriage stopped, and Mr. Locke talked to the man.

"Hey, can you please move a side?" said Mr. Locke.

Ignoring Mr. Locke, the man in the dark green cloth grins with evil intent.

Neerial and I suddenly felt a surge of bloodlust. quickly dashing to the front of the carriage, saving Mr. Locke from the attack.

A band of bandits came to attack us. Surrounding us on this mountain-edge road is executing an ambush.

A couple of bandits surrounded the carriage; all were heavily armed. Leaking with killing intent.

"What seems to be the problem, Mr. Bandits? We're just travelers hoping to travel safely," I asked, hoping to get any information.

One of the bandits replied, pointing his blade in my direction. He responded to my question.

"You're carrying something valuable that belongs to us; hand it over!" the bandit said.

I covered my mouth with my palm, pretending to be scared by his blade. I slowly opened my book and summoned the magic staff.

"Wow, so scary. But I'm afraid we'll have to say no to that," I replied.

Pointing the magic staff in their direction, Neerial and I got ready for a fight.
