CHAPTER 28

Roger was driving in the car and was seeing the countryside. The agriculture was much more interesting and it was much peaceful than the towns. He had to accept the fact that a pure environment was much more interesting than polluted environment. Roger looked at the town that was at the front while on the highway. The town was indeed much bigger and it was much more interesting to see.

Roger went to the house that was bought for him. The villa was big enough and it was newly built personally for him. He opened the villa and entered it. It was good enough. Roger lay down and started going through the internet. He was told that most of the worlds he will be going will be having the point of view and kind of culture similar to his one as otherwise it might be hard for a short-lived species. He found that many of them were the same.

Roger had the car become a scooter as he did not want to be too conspicuous. He entered the classroom and found that the classroom was really bad. It did not matter as what made the school was the staff and the students. He took a seat and sat on it. He saw that some of the students came and they sat there. Roger looked at them and then at the teacher who had come. The teacher smiled and said, "As you all know, I am Lily your homeroom teacher. There is a new student here. Please stand up and introduce yourself."

Roger stood up and said, "I am Roger Speed-son."

Roger sat down. The teacher coughed and asked, "What are your interests. What do you like to do?"

Roger said, "I like hunting animals and eating them. Every once in a while, when I get tired, I go to hunt the animals with my shotgun."

The students started speaking among themselves. The teacher said, "We have hunting ground here. We can go there."

Roger said, "Sure."

Roger smiled and sat down. The teacher started teaching the literature and Roger listened to the class. Roger looked at them and continued in the class. After the class many of the students came to talk to him and he talked to them too. Vera asked, "Are you interested in joining the literature club."

Roger said, "I was thinking about joining some kind of hunting club."

John said, "There is no nothing like that."

Roger said, "That is indeed a sad thing."

After understanding the basic things about the class, others left him alone. Roger ate the food on the rooftop and a person came behind him. Roger still decided to follow the order and keep his morals. He will not be bound by them but still follow them as if he did not do it, he will sooner or later become an animal. Maybe living here for some time might be better.

Roger was walking to get his bike when he was stopped by Amelia. Roger looked at her in doubt. What did she want? Roger looked at her and asked the same. Amelia smiled and said, "We have a rule here for the newcomers."

Roger asked, "Should we fight to death or something."

Amelia said, "You have to take me out on a dinner."

Roger did not believe in acting as someone else. No one can tell when they will become what they act as. He did not want to act as a person of justice and become one and did not want to become an evil person. He just wanted to be himself. Roger had decided to stay away from women as he never cared about them. What was the fun in just talking to them when he could do much better things? He was never involved with women as reproduction was nothing more than test tube baby method. There was not much relationship between people.

Roger looked at her and said, "I have no interest in you."

She said in anger, "I have not come to ask you on a date. It is we who invite you."

Roger asked, "Who are we?"

She said, "Me and my friends. Do not worry, we will pay for our part."

Roger said, "I have some things to do at home."

She nodded and left. Roger did not care about her and returned home. Roger rode back to his home.

The new day had come and John came to Roger. Paul came to him and asked, "We are going toa restaurant today. Are you interested in coming?" 

Roger said, "Sure."

Amelia who was sitting at the front turned and asked, "Why did you not accept my invitation?"

Roger said, "I have no interest in falling in love for now."

Amelia said, "I did not ask you on a date. Paul was also one among the group of friends."

Roger said, "How would you feel if you are handsome man and a woman comes to you asking on a date? Even if you say later about your companions, I cannot believe it."

Paul said, "Forget it. She is just a little bit outspoken."

Roger laughed and said, "If she had a knife or an iron rod on her hand, I would have thought she was a gangster who came to collect protection money from me."

Paul and other students laughed while Lily was really angry. Roger looked at him and said, "Don't laugh. I am the cultural in-charge. I will not give you any chance in the future."

Roger asked Paul, "Is she involved in nepotism?"

Paul said, "She only cares as such unless you really do something that makes her angry and it is not like we are a serious government organization."

Roger said, "That is indeed a sad thing. I will be coming to the bar."
