2026 middle of June,
A year and 6 months have passed since the game started. Society has been reorganized multiple times, but the order of the world was still maintainable thanks to the cooperations between the guilds and the government.
One of these cooperations results are the newly created Eternal Academy. This institute highly focuses on cultivating new members for the Enforcers and the guilds by being supporting the soon to be 16 year's old students. They learned about useful quests, information about how to clear dungeons efficiently and how to progress the fastest path possible to reach higher levels.
Alex Cross was one of the students of Eternal Academy. He was a general young man who had a face that can be called just a little more handsome than standard. He had dark black hair that was slightly longer, which made his amber-like eyes barely visible. His uniform hidden his 6 foot tall slightly muscular body.
An ordinary student with a basic relationship in class and some friends. If there was anything special about him is that he was about to turn 16. Which meant that by the rules established, he can join the life changer VR game called Utopia Online. The game which had a huge impact on real life and basicly dominated the path of humankind since its appearance.
As Alex was sitting in the classroom, he kept thinking about which class should he chose? For everyone, the first time you register you need to make a decision between: Warrior, Assassin, Wizard, Fairy, Tamer or Monk professions.
As their names may suggest, warriors are based on strong melee against solo or even multiple enemies at the same and being more tanky.
Assassin mainly focus on single target executions with fast and powerful strikes moreover they have high dexterity which makes it easier for them to avoid being hit. The only disadvantage is their weak health.
Wizards deal the most damage from ranged distance and are capable of using more control based abilities. But they have a fatal weakness: the low health.
Fairy is responsible for keeping their teammates alive by various heals, buff and even debuff skills.
Tamer is a class that can tame beast-like enemies and you can have them assisting you in combat. Tamers mainly use ranged weapons such as bow, guns and crossbows.
Monk is also a melee based profession, but different from the warrior and assassin, the monk's main responsibility is taking damage instead of others, buffing himself and controlling the monsters in close distance.
That wall all the jobs you can choose from in Utopia Online. Alex kept thinking about which one should he choose. Soon the bell ring and it clearly meant that the classes for today were over.
As Alex was about to hurry off the classroom, a student stood in his way. It was a girl with long red hair, eyes like fire and she had a cold expression. She was Emma, the monitor of the class.
"Alex, I know that you're already aware but don't forget to register your class and the name you choose on the school platform, so others can find your id to team up and we can help each other progress faster."
Alex, "Thank you for reminding me Emma, I will surely register my information as soon as I create my avatar."
Emma said, "Do not be like other hot-headed boys who think that by trying to play the game alone is cool and just wasting their time. This game is way harder and more complex than you can imagine. Maybe one day we can team up to clear dungeons if you can catch up with my level." After saying these words, she just left.
Alex knew that she was saying these things for his own good. Remembering his goodwill, He begin his way to the school centre and after checking his data and verifying that he is already 16 years old, the school gave him a number and a key to his new dorm room, which already had the game capsule installed.
As he walked forward to his new dormitory, another boy who was on the road noticed him and, as he suddenly remembered something, he started heading toward him. Alex also saw him and he already knew what this guy had come for, but they didn't stop walking. They kept walking and soon they were side by side and walked forward together.
.He was Alex's desk mate in the class,Stephen. But more than half a month ago, he turned 16 and he was no longer needed to attend to classes. So he spent most of his time grinding in Utopia. In order to join the same team as his girlfriend, he chose the healer class, as it was what their team was lacking. Because he spent most of his time farming they no longer met each other, but when they were desk mates, they were good friends.
Stephen kept walking and said, laughing, " Alex, long time no see. I see that the time for you has arrived. Congratulations on your 16th birthday. If you need any help or anyone is harassing you, come and contact me freely. My name in Utopia is, "Shealhen". I am already level 14 and I can help you level in my free time.
Alex said with a smile, "Hi Stephen. Thank you for your well-wishes. It feels good to see you as lively as before we parted. I will surely not forget to add you to my friend's list. Despite of that, at first, I still want to experience how it feels to be inside the game and test the combat personally. Just don't fell troublesome if I really look for you one day."
Stephen kept laughing, " How could it be troublesome? But it will be the best if you never need to experience harassments. Just remember, you have me backing you up. Who knows, maybe later I will need your help with dungeons or other things. Ha-ha-ha!"
Alex kept smiling as he said, " So be it. If I ever need your help, I will do my best to compensate you. But now I have to say sorry, I am gonna get going. I am very impatient, I can't wait to make my avatar and test it out."
Stephen said, " No problem, I can understand it. Go for it, just don't be in a rush to forget the basics. It is the best if your character modification doesn't change too much compared to your real-life physic so it will be easier to control and you dont need to waste your time to adapt."
Alex was grateful that he understood his feelings and hastily said goodbye and run towards his new dormitory. His room was on the second floor and by the time he arrived, it was already afternoon. Checking the numbers on the doors soon, he arrived in front of the one with the number 256 written on it. By inserting the key, he unlocked the door and stepped into his new dorm room.
It was a small and comfy little room with a bathroom and a bedroom in it. As he looked around, he saw a big wardrobe to store his clothes; a fridge; a bed; and most importantly a gaming capsule in the corner. After arranging his luggage, it was ultimately time for the finale.
