Fighting the bandits

Alex soon arrived at the quest location. Looking around he saw skeletons and 3 bandit who were sitting around a campfire. The trio had a red name, which shows that they were not peaceful creatures. Even if you try to move past them, they will attack you. Alex used the insight to check their basic statistics.

Name: Elite bandit

Level: 2

HP: 1000/1000

MP: 50/50

All 3 of them had the same HP, which is a challenge in itself, but if you have to fight with all of them at the same time, it's literally impossible.

That is why the first to discover this hidden quest had to team up with others to complete it.

Later, some newcomers tried out different ideas to trick 1 of the bandits and fight him alone. The trick succeed but the bandit was still too difficult to be defeated alone.

So people could only declare that this quest was impossible to be completed alone.

Alex thought, even if they could not finish this quest in solo, I will surely be able to with thanks to devouring. He quickly found a small rock and throw it at one of the bandits. After being hit, the bandit got up and started looking around. The moment he found his attacker, he charged at him.

Alex checked the other 2 bandits and, after making sure they were not moving, he started luring away the one who ran after him. Finding an open space where he can freely dodge, he started fighting the bandit.

The battle wasn't that smooth as it was with the regular monsters. Alex got hit by the bandit several times, and after repeating his combos his MP run low. 

By the time his MP hit zero, the bandit still had half of its hp while Alex hp was barely 40.

Seeing that the bandit's HP was still half, he knows his chance on killing him was basically zero.

Alex had no choice but to escape. He activated stealth and started moving his way back to the skeleton warriors.

"What a ridiculous chosen one. What a destined solo player. I am no better than others. Even if I have a unique skill, I still failed to kill a simple elite monster." Alex was downcast by his failure.

"But I have a chance to change all that. I can get stronger, I don't need XP, I don't need better weapons, all I need is my Devouring. If I can't finish you now, then I will comeback after doubling my attributes. If double is not enough, then triple it. I have more than enough time. I dont need to rush anything."

Alex stood in front of the cemetery and vow" I will return stronger and be the first to achieve the impossible."

He begin his way to the north of the village. He figured if the by devouring level 2 skeletons and level 1 boars still gave you the same increase, then he will start hunting wild boars as they are easier.

Looking at the bunch of boars sleeping, he murmured, " anyway I still have an unfinished business with you guys, definitely not because your low drop chance on the quest item definitively not, I am not that petty."

So the wailing of the pigs began. Alex only got 1 XP per kill, but he didn't mind that as his main focus was Devouring. After every boar, his attributes kept increasing.

He could finish 3 boars with a full MP bar, and after every third he had to consume a Mana Potion. in this way he kept fighting for 2 hours straight.

In these 2 hours, he killed exactly a hundred wild boars.

"I should probably take a rest."

Alex thought, as he felt mentally tired from all the killing. It was his first time playing this realistic game and the focus on avoiding being hit and seeing the eerie mouth every time influenced his mindset.

Before going offline, he checked his status

Alex sat up from the game console and noticed that it was already nighttime. Players can stay inside the game as long as they want. There are no restrictions on that. But by staying up all night long it will affect your performance.

Alex showered and laid down on the bed. " Tomorrow I have to register my name, my occupation, the town where I started and even my level in the Group finding building." This is included in the school policy.

According to the rules, by entering the data, you can easily search for a suitable team in the same starting village. But it also helps to track the students' progress, as you need to refresh it weekly.

Alex wasn't against it. Even if he had to register, the school can't force him to team up. Of course, there can be cases when you cannot refuse to help, unless you want to offend some high-ranking officials.

Alex kept thinking till he fall asleep.

Next day

Alex woke up at 6 AM in the morning. First thing he did was jogging around for 30 minutes. Taking a shower to wipe away the sweat, he dressed up and went to the Group finding center.

There were many people already on the line. Most of them were looking for teammates and some of them to register.

Soon it was time for his turn as the lady at the counter asked, "Good morning, sir. How may I help?"

Alex said, "Good morning to you, too. I want to register my information as a new player"

The lady said as she took out a piece of paper, " Got it. Please tell me your name, occupation, the village you are in, and your current level."

"My name is Deathwhisper, my class is assassin, I started in Green Stone Village and i am currently level 2."

After Alex reported his information, the lady thanked him and Alex was about to leave.

When suddenly an elderly-looking man appeared and questioned" Did you just say Green Stone village?"

As Alex saw the man he only thought about one thing "Trouble"
