Chapter 7: The Game Changer (II)

--|| 5 Minutes earlier ||--

As soon as the coin dropped, Drix left immediately and ran up to Joriel's base. As soon as he did, Joriel's teammates immediately tried to surround him and capture him.

Seeing them all, Drix just smirked and stopped to taunt them for a bit with a middle finger. This made them annoyed at him and angrily try to tag him.

"Miss me with that bullshit."

But as always, Drix outmaneuvered them all and as he did so he taunted them making their faces as dark as the asphalt road.

Others gave up immediately leaving only one guy left to keep track of Drix. Drix then did something unexpected.

"Won't you pwease lemme gow big scawwy guy~?"

"FUCK YOU!!"

The guy immediately bursted in anger and went to run after him bursting in fury. Meanwhile Drix just laughed as he was getting chased.

"Heh, think you can catch up? Eat my dirt!"

Drix smirked as he sprinted faster but then he suddenly did a wall jump on a turn before continuing at the same speed, leaving behind the guy chasing him.

As soon as he took the turn, he didn't see Drix anywhere. He clicked his tongue and continued to run to catch up to him, there's only one other way to their base and it was this one.

Soon, the guy vanished from sight and a quiet chuckle sounded. It was Drix. As soon as he turned, he climbed the wall and hid in the roof of the small house.

"I knew that guy would buy it this time too. Heh, nothing changed at all."

He already knew that this would happen because he did it too in his past life. But back then, he had to turn three times to get that dog off his back.

Drix snickered as he thought about how stupid they were. Then he went down the roof and looked around him to see if there's any people near. After seeing that there's no one around, he chuckled to himself and shook his head as he opened a manhole.

"It seems like we will definitely win this game. Heh, nothing changes."

After musing to himself, he went down the manhole and covered the lid. This is the plan he had to win. Chris just said that he needs to hide in the bushes near Joriel's base. But he knows that won't work because Joriel already anticipated that.

Later, when they realized that I haven't been back for 5 minutes they would send Mike off next and try to sneak up behind. But he would be captured immediately because the one who was chasing me earlier would have come back at that time and was asked to check the bushes as per Joriel's orders.

Meanwhile, they won't mind nor would they think of the manhole near their base. Drix smirked to himself. During the construction of this road a year ago there was a mistake and they put a manhole near the tree next to their neighbor's house, which was Joriel's base. So they had to elevate the tree a meter above so it could accommodate for the roots. This made it hard to see the manhole as it is directly near the riffraff.

This was a flawless tactic I thought of that made me win this game back then. But this also brought harsh bullying later after Joriel's tantrum.

A glint flashed through my eyes as I remembered what happened after this game. Being fed shit, falling off the bridge and the following incessant bullying. If not for that person's help back then, he would've been like this until he's fifteen or so.

But this time, he'll solve it on his own early. He won't let them do what they did to him in the past. He must not let that event happen again.

Smirking to himself, he thought that this will be easy... as they're all kids anyway. He continued to think to himself as he walked slowly toward the place where

(A/N: Did he forget he's technically still a kid due to his time travel shit?)

Meanwhile above the surface, Regan has been captured by Joriel's teammate just now and almost 5 minute has passed since Drix left. This made him think that maybe he's still being chased by one of Joriel's men.

"Mike, you go and lurk. Wait for the opportunity. It seems like Drix is preoccupied by that person."

Mike frowned but nodded to him. Then he ran out and passed Joriel's men easily dodging and getting them off his tail. With this, another one of them was gone from base and there's only Chris and Irish left in the base.

This however made defending their base a bit harder. They have two more people than them currently at base, with the other one not returning yet.

Joriel saw this and he smirked then ordered his lackeys to surround them, leaving only him in their base.

Three boys proceeded and encircled their base while waiting for an opportunity to capture their base. Meanwhile Chris and Irish just continued to intimidate them by one of them running off occasionally to try and capture one of them.

While this was happening, the person who chased after Drix came back and reported something to Joriel. As soon as he heard it, he involuntarily smirked and ordered him to clean up the rear. Regan saw all of this and can't help but feel bad because he felt that they would lose.

Soon, the guy came back with Mike. Mike's aura was quite gloomy and he just frowned as he walked to the enemy's base as a prisoner.

Irish and Chris saw this and can't help but curse. Their predicament brought glee to Joriel as he thought that this game was his win. He already imagined what he would do with all the money.

But unbeknownst to them, the manhole cover placed in an inconspicuous place suddenly moved. The game is not yet over.
