It was shortly after Olivia, and Zane finished speaking about their personal business that the vote was concluded. Surprisingly, it was unanimously in favor of Zane's proposal. Perhaps the sudden assault by tens of thousands of undead as well as the loss of 1/5th of the settlement's population was too much for the residents of Gravestone to handle.

Because they were all lining up, wanting to be the first to awaken their new powers. Of course, Angelica had a long cooldown on her abilities, and thus she could only help cure one infected survivor at a time.

As a result, Zane made sure that only one of his settlement's residents consumed a blood crystal at a time. It was a lengthy process, and more often than not, it would take multiple tries for the residents of Gravestone to awaken their system and the powers it granted them.
