The Flower's Curiosity

Leon is right.

This girl is a slow learner. And that's saying something.

For how many times today alone, this girl keeps falling a lot. Amy watches blankly as this girl fails to reach the one mile run in time. Normally - even an unathletic person - for her age and build, she could still run one mile in less than thirty minutes. This girl took an additional thirty minutes, which may seem not that much, but succeeds in annoying the hell out of her. And that is just from this morning. Now she is watching Jennifer do a basic training exercise using a sword.

Leon is a poor teacher and asked Amy to train her so by the time she arrives in Solin, she will not be looked down upon. The reason is that Getelans are seen as cowardly. Even if Jennifer trained as a warrior, it isn't going to change the public's perception. Solinean Noblewomen are not obligated to train as warriors. Even Leon knows that.

After training her for hours, Jennifer collapsed on a nearby bench in exhaustion and gulp a ton of water from her water bottle. While she rests, Amy heads to the training field and begins practicing her form or as Ryota called it: Kata on the training dummy. She read every book and training manual he gave and demonstrated the ones she doesn't understand.

Jennifer is surprised to see Amy move so alien-like.

"What are you doing?"

"Training," she replied, "You can rest for a couple minutes while I do my warmup."

"Where did you learn how to do that?" she asked in bewilderment.

"Ran," she flatly replied while concentrating on the dummy.

"Ran? As in the Island?!" Jennifer asks with excitement.

"Yes," she replied with little vigor, this girl is annoying.

"You left the Continent." she mutters with amazement, "You're so lucky. No one in Getel has ever see the ocean much less left the continent."

Getel may have the largest landmark in the world, but the walls completely block the route to the ocean so no one in this country has ever seen a warm beach or tropical landscape.

Before Amy could comment, Jennifer spoke first.

"Why did Leon call you his equal?"

Taken aback, she looked at Jennifer. There is a hint of loneliness. Popular as she may be, it also makes her isolated, but she doesn't pity her because this situation she is in is something of her own making.

"I think you'd know the answer to that, don't you think?"

Jennifer stared at Amy with a hurt look, "Is it because you are strong? He told me a lot about you after all. You are a master of many weapons and armed combat. Combine that with your magic, you are one of the strongest in your year in Solin's Magic Academy. You're a strict person like he said but you are a surprisingly good teacher."

Amy furrowed her brow. "He never told you?"

"He says to ask you why and that it's your right to tell me not his."

Amy scratched her head in frustration. Dammit Leon, do you really want me to bond with this girl?

"It's because I killed someone he wasn't able to." she answered.

Jennifer stared at Amy like she is trying to read her. "Leon is powerful enough as it is. Who is the enemy that you could kill but not him?"

"My power was appropriate for the situation." she replies, "I worked extremely hard to capture that person and I did."

"You don't sound happy."

Amy shrugged. "It doesn't matter how I feel. In Solin, you have to learn what you get yourself into especially if you become a soldier. I learn what I can and understand the consequence of every action I take and sacrifices I have to make. Innocence has no place in this world."

Jennifer seems surprised to hear Amy's explanation. It led Amy to want to walk to where he is and talk to Leon about what kind of information he fed this girl.

"Is it really necessary to learn this kind of stuff?" she asks nervously. "If I go to Solin that is."

"It depends. If Leon intends to bring you to Solin as a mistress, then that isn't necessary but if he intends to marry you then it would depend on your power. Queen Helena and Melissa Orlando's powers do not require any physical training other than focusing on magic." Amy then realized something and stared at her, "Do you have an ability?"

The girl looks suspicious, and Amy's interest piqued. Does this girl have an ability that she has to hide?

"Does he know about this?"

"I do have an ability but it's-"

"There you are!"

Dammit, just when things are getting good.

Amy looked distastefully in the direction of the two lackeys of Jennifer that are frantically running to her.

"Jennifer! You got to go to the Mess Hall! Prince Leon and Rufus Valerian are fighting!"

"WHAT?!!" Amy shouted at the top of her lungs, startling the trio. "Where are they?" she growled.

"Follow us!" Ethan said and the four head to the mess hall.

"By the way," Amy said to Jennifer, "You want to know how strong I am, right? You'll probably see that sooner than you'd think."

Leon and Rufus are at a standstill in the mess hall. Their aura has already created high, heavy pressure that literally toppled students and tables around. The pair are glaring at each other, not daring to look away even at several feet away. Melissa is trying her best but even she seems to cower by the pressure and is acting as a referee, ready to stop them. At least, she is handling it better than most. There are a couple students who already soiled themselves. She has seen the pair argue a lot these days, but she and Violet used to take shifts on watching his behavior and keeping them in check but with Violet missing and Amy occupied, she can barely handle them on her own.

Then she noticed Amaryllis with Jennifer and her henchmen. Even though she doesn't really like Jennifer, she doesn't hate the girl either and is even grateful that she is here as she might be the only person capable of calming the two goliaths.

Then Amaryllis's aura began to flare brightly. Unlike the dark grey aura of Rufus and the golden aura of Leon, hers shine a dark shade of Lilac.
