I Won’t Beat Around the Bush

The growls of beasts followed by the sounds of pained cries could be heard repeatedly. The sounds of the fight between mages and beasts echoed throughout a big cave. A bolt of lightning cut through the air like a spear thrown at an enemy. A single blow was all it took to kill a beast.

The group of beasts surrounding Arias was about to back away in fear, but unfortunately, their legs were bound by bright green vines. These vines were like poisonous snakes. The more their prey struggled, the tighter they became. Being held down like this, the group of different beasts was not unlike prisoners being put under a guillotine. As a Thunder power was released, all of them were killed.

“That must have been all of them.”

Olivia said. The green vines around the beasts’ lifeless bodies started loosening slowly under the little faerie’s command.

“This is probably the last group we’ll see on this floor.”
