A mild breeze carried the smell of blood across the area. The lush green forest had turned into a graveyard where lifeless bodies of mages were buried. There were almost twenty corpses of mages lying on the ground. Streams of blood flowed like a river. The corpses scattered across the ground were all mages who were sent on a mission to kill the spider demons, and they were also the reinforcement that the three mages were trying to send distress signals to. The reason they couldn’t help was not because they had abandoned those soldiers, but because they were no longer alive and thus unable to help anybody.
