I Will Protect It

At the Scarcia Manor

Farhan stared out of the window with the look of someone who was carrying the weight of the world. Reflecting in his eyes was the image of an old mage who was walking along with a group of soldiers in a graceful manner and with a satisfied look on his face, unlike Farhan who seemed visibly troubled.

“What should I do about this?”

He tore his eyes away from the back of Barton and returned to sit at his desk. He let out a long sigh, his head filled with a myriad of things he needed to consider.

“He’s not giving us any choice.”

He held up a dimensional ring and looked at it. This ring was filled with precious treasure as well as a huge amount of money. These assets were valuable enough to turn a pauper into a millionaire in the blink of an eye. In normal circumstances, he would be holding it with a smile on his face. But in this situation, he would rather return it to the one who gave it to him.
