Chapter 7-The Rogue Syndicate
Ren has now entered the base of the Rogue Syndicate, which was different compared to the base he discovered before during the apprenticeship tournament. The Rogue Syndicate's base is a sprawling complex that takes up a large area, hidden from the world. Despite its massive size, the base manages to stay discrete, blending in with the natural surroundings. On closer inspection, the base gives off an aura of power and dominance, but at a distance, it seems like any ordinary building. The base is home to all the Rogue members, including Ren, Lisa, and "Titan"- who Ren previously met at the attack on the Institute of Heroism 3 months ago. It is designed to accommodate their every need, from training centers to recreational areas, and everything in between. The base has its own hospital, laboratory, and Strategic room where plans are formulated. The base also has its own utilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, sports areas, and more. The base is meant to impress and intimidate, but it also has a homely feel that makes it seem normal. It is a place where Ren and his fellow Rogues can relax, recharge, and prepare for their next mission, whatever it may be. Inside, the base is a marvel of technology and design. No expense has been spared in creating an environment that is both impressive and comfortable. The base has its own labs, training grounds, and even recreational areas, all with the aim of creating an ideal space for the Rogues to live and work in. Outside, the base blends into the surroundings, hiding its true nature as the headquarters of the Rogue syndicate. From the inside, however, the base is a bastion of power and evil, ready to strike fear into the hearts of those who oppose it.
Ren's reaction to the tour of the base is one of both awe and surprise. As he is shown around, he can't help but marvel at the size and complexity of the base. It is a truly impressive place, with state-of-the-art technology, well-appointed facilities, and devoted Rogues willing to do whatever it takes to secure victory for the Rogue syndicate. Ren is impressed with the capabilities and dedication of the Rogues, and he is eager to learn more about the base and his role within the Rogue syndicate. As the tour continues, Ren's awe and surprise turn to a sense of admiration and respect. The more he learns about the Rogues and how the base operates, the more Ren respects the organization and its members. He begins to understand the importance of the Rogue syndicate and the role it plays in the world. When the tour comes to an end, Ren feels a sense of excitement and purpose. He is ready to take on the duties of the Rogue syndicate leader and make changes within the organization. He also feels grateful to Lisa and "Titan"- who has yet to tell him his real name, for showing him the base and explaining the operations of the Rogue syndicate to him. Ren now has a better understanding of the organization he leads and its role in the world, and he is ready to make his mark as the Rogue syndicate leader.
"Alright then Ren, it's time to meet, the "Nefarious Nine" of the Rogue Syndicate, you ready? "Grim Reaper", Lisa chuckles as she calls Ren by his new title. "Just call me Ren...", he says slightly embarrassed. "Well first up is me of course, as you know, I am known as "Midnight Blade", I have the magic power to control electricity as I'm sure you remember, and my main weapon is the sword. "I mean I knew all that already, what about this titan guy I have yet to know his name.", finally, 'Titan' speaks, "My name is Zeref, I am known as Titan, as you know I have the ability to fuel my body with magic which increases my power output as well as increases my strength, I use the gauntlets", as usual, his expression is one of no emotion, almost as if it hasn't changed ever since his exciting battle with Kiyoshi. "it's nice to meet you Zeref, I hope we can work together to fulfill our ambitions to uproot the chaos and corruption in this world", Ren puts his hand forward and Zeref shakes it. now I will give you a list of the rest of the members of the nefarious nine, this will include a lot more details since you have already met me and Zeref but you don't know the others. Ren starts reading the List which has appeared on a massive screen in the current room he is in- The base of operations. The list consists of:
Eliza - The Bloodhound of Vengeance
Real name: Eliza
Villain name: The Bloodhound of Vengeance
Powers: Pyrokinesis
Role: Captain of the Rogue Syndicate attack forces
Eliza has bright red hair and crimson eyes, she is around 5-foot 6, is 23 years old, and has a scar on her left eye, she is always in her villain uniform so that she is always ready for a fight. Eliza is a fiery member of the Rogue syndicate with powers over fire. She is a fierce and fearless warrior, able to cause destruction with her flames and overpower her opponents. She is not one to shy away from a fight and is often seen training with Aqua.
Yumiko - The Shadow
Real name: Yumiko
Villain name: The Shadow
Powers: Shadow Manipulation
Role: Captain of the Reconnaissance squad of the Rogue Syndicate- specialize in information gathering and strategic planning, member of the Rogue Syndicate main attack force
Yumiko has violet hair and black abyssal eyes; she wears a mask like Lisa and is always in black clothes, like Eliza she is 5-foot 6 and 22 years old. Yumiko is a member of the Rogue syndicate with powers over the shadows and darkness. She is adept at moving silently and blending in with the shadows, making her a deadly opponent. She is also a master of intimidation, using her powers to strike fear and doubt into the hearts of her enemies.
Kira- The Merciless Mercenary
Real Name: Kira
Villain Name: The Merciless Mercenary
Powers: Poison/acid manipulation
Role: Captain of covert operations, member of the Rogue Syndicate main attack force
Kira has violet hair like Yumiko and is also her younger brother, he has black eyes and wears normal fashionable clothes, he likes going out and blending in with civilians. He is a 5-foot 11, and 21 years old like Lisa and Zeref, and has honed his agility so much so that he can run so fast he's invisible to the naked eye. Kira is a member of the Rogue syndicate who can manipulate poisonous gases and clouds as well as release toxic acids from his body. He can use these gases to create clouds of poison that can both inflict damage and induce fear in enemies. He specializes in dagger skills and was previously an assassin for hire.
Aqua - The Harbinger of destruction
Real Name: Aqua
Villain Name: The Harbinger of destruction
Powers: hydrokinesis
Role: captain of the Rogue Syndicate institution of vigilantism- teacher as well as principal. As Aqua's power is too destructive to be used frequently, she is instead a teacher at an institute created by the Rogue Syndicate which helps trains warriors who have learned the truth of the world, who will eventually join different parts of the organization (attack force, defense force, research team, reconnaissance squad, covert operations)
Aqua has bright blue hair, green eyes like Ren, she is always in light waterproof clothes, always has a bright smile on her face...but deep down no one knows how she feels, she is 5 foot 9, 23 years old, and wears a specific power bracer which weakens her power-simply because she is to powerful and so must always hold back. Aqua is the harbinger of destruction, able to manipulate and control the water around her. She can control water in its various forms, from rainstorms to rivers and seas, including natural disasters like tsunamis, and she can use this power for both offense and defense.
Daisuke - The Stonewall
Real Name: Daisuke
Villain Name: The Stonewall Guardian
Powers: Geomancy
Role: Captain of the Defense force for the base of The Rogue Syndicate- also trains the members of the Special attack force along with their captain Eliza
Daisuke is a towering 6-foot 3, just shorter the Zeref and 2 inches taller than Ren, he has short brown hair, he is 26 years old and is like the dad off the Rogue syndicate along with Sir Ryuji who recently passed. Daisuke has black eyes, a strong Jawline, and an extended goatee. Daisuke is the Stonewall of the Rogue syndicate, a formidable wall of stone and steel who defends his allies and protects the base. He uses his abilities to create walls and barricades, to create armor and weapons, and to defend himself and his fellow revolutionaries from attack.
Enma- The Death bringer
Real Name: Enma
Villain Name: The Death bringer
Powers: Fear Manipulation, Pain Manipulation, illusory magic
Role: Head researcher at the Laboratory, Head strategist and vice-captain of the reconnaissance squad, member of the Rogue Syndicate main attack force, also one of the world's best hackers
Enma is an unrivaled genius, not a single person can hope to challenge his superior intellect, he has black hair and deep black eyes, and always has a tired look on his face, he is 5 foot 10 and 24 years old. Enma is a member of the Rogue syndicate who has a special talent for manipulating fear and pain. He can induce fear and pain in others, creating an aura of dread and caution that he uses to intimidate his enemies. He is also gifted with stealth and fear and pain manipulation.
Alaina - The Nightmare
Real Name: Alaina
Villain Name: The Nightmare
Powers: Psychic Manipulation,
Role: Captain of the interrogation squad of the Rogue Syndicate, specializes in torture, member of the Rogue Syndicate main attack force, Therapist for the Rogue Syndicate
Alaina has cherry blossom pink hair as well as pink eyes, she is 21 years old and is perhaps the kindest soul you will ever meet- not what you would expect from an expert in torture and interrogation-she is the perfect person to talk to if you have problems and is always there to help her friends, Alaina is also a part time therapist for the Rogue Syndicate's members. Alaina uses her powers of hypnosis and psychic manipulation to control other people's thoughts and actions. She can also read minds, allowing her to know what her enemies and allies are thinking and planning, as well as being able to use telekinesis, she uses her powers to win over allies and manipulate enemies, controlling them with her mind and forcing them to do her bidding. When on your side, she is a powerful asset, but as an enemy, she is your worst nightmare.
These are the "Nefarious Nine" of the Rogue Syndicate along with Lisa- The Midnight Blade-who is the vice principal of the Rogue Syndicate's institute for vigilantism as well as the secretary of the "Grim Reaper" of the Rogue Syndicate, as well as Zeref-The Titan- who is vice captain of the defense force along with Daisuke and the right-hand man of the "Grim Reaper". The hierarchy of the Rogue Syndicate is as follow: Grim Reaper-Ren, the secretary-Lisa and right-hand man-Zeref, The Nefarious Nine (in order of strength not including Lisa or Zeref), vice captains (those who are not part of the Nefarious Nine) and finally normal members of the Rogue Syndicates separate groups.
Ren is shocked at the members of the nefarious nine, he remembers hearing about them being the most dangerous and evil beings in society while in the institute of heroism, but right now, to him they just seem like normal people, at least on paper. "Everyone seems incredibly powerful but, if i may ask, why are they all so young?", Lisa looks confused and speaks, "Ren, you do know that we are third generation Rogues right?", now Ren is the one who is shocked "what?", "The Rogue Syndicate is an organization which has been standing for 30 years, your father, sir Ryuji, created the Rogue syndicate 30 years ago, and has been the "Grim Reaper" ever since, the nefarious nine has included many people over the years, in fact, Yumiko and Kira's parents were both first generation Rogue's, that's why they grew up here at the Rogue Syndicate and have now become members of the nefarious nine." Ren had no idea the Rogue Syndicate had such rich history; all he knew about them was that they were an evil villain organization, however it seemed he was incorrect, now his determination to fulfil his father's and Toji's last wish was even stronger, and he was willing to do anything to do so. As the tour ended Ren spend the rest of the day getting used to his new living quarters and also stayed by little Kazuto's side at the infirmary, he was hoping he would awaken by next week when it was time for his coronation as the new leader of the Rogue Syndicate.
Ren spent the rest of the night sleeping by his comatose brother and prayed for him to get better. As he slept, he had a dream, something he hasn't had in a very long time, he met his father, older brother Toji, and his beloved mother. "Hey dad", Ren said while shedding tears in his sleep. "Oh Ren, I'm sorry for putting the burden of this duty on you.", "I hope you know that me and your mother will always love you, and please take care of little Kazuto, right? I hope that he can grow up in a world where the corruption and obstacles we face don't exist, please Ren, change this accursed world, and make it one where people can be free and not be oppressed by these so called "heroes." Ren continues tearing up, "I promise father, I will make you and Toji proud, and I will be the voice of the revolution that is about to come, I will show those "heroes", what it's like to feel the Wrath of Nature and my fury, I will make this a world where innocent's like Kazuto can live in peace and tranquility, and I will make the "heroes" rue the day they decided to mess with my family."
Ren watches as his father and brother fade away, the only one left is his mother. "Promise me you will be alright Ren? don't lose yourself in this quest for vengeance and take care of yourself alright? if you ever need me just hold the pendant your father gave you alright, remember Ren...We shall always be with you, so don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened, my wonderful son Ren, when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure, so don't be sad that we are gone, but be glad that we made memories you can cherish my son." Both mother and son cry their hearts out, and as sad as it is to say goodbye, Ren knows he has to, "I wish I could stay in this dream forever mother, but... I have something to do, after all I have to take care of Kazuto, right?" Ren continues shedding tears. "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard, right mom." Ren's mother fades away in his arms as he falls asleep clutching his mom's pendant. With the words for his family fueling his vengeance, Ren will become a force to be reckoned with, and a force of nature this world has never seen, but what about Kiyoshi? what could Kiyoshi possibly do to protect the world from the absolute evil known as the Rogue Syndicate, as well as his very own best friend Ren Kuzure.
