Chapter 542 The Light of the Czech Republic

The joyous and elegant Victoria's Secret show had ended, and it was now time for the leggy "Victoria's Secret supermodels" to showcase their perfect figures at the after-party. The after-party was indeed a magical place where the outfits of these long-legged models became a visual feast, featuring an array of sexy and casual chic looks.

"Matthew, that guy moves fast."

In the banquet hall filled with handsome men and beautiful women, David Ellison was still searching for his target. As he passed by a blonde beauty nearly six feet tall, he noticed Matthew already happily chatting with her. "Is it really that effective to be good-looking and famous?"

David Ellison glanced back. Matthew and Karolina Kurkova were chatting and laughing, and in less than ten minutes, they seemed to have hit it off.

After some thought, he realized that a rich, good-looking, and famous Hollywood star would undoubtedly have a strong appeal to these supermodels.

Standing opposite Karolina Kurkova, Matthew spoke as if he were addressing an old friend, "I heard that people in the fashion circle call you KK, is that right?"

"Yes." Karolina Kurkova nodded gently.

Her natural blonde hair was neatly combed back, and her simple white fitted evening dress hid secrets, with a ruffled skirt cascading down from the waist like a butterfly spreading its wings.

Matthew continued, "Can I call you KK?"

Karolina Kurkova smiled, "Of course."

"You left a deep impression tonight, KK." Matthew continued to get closer to Karolina Kurkova, "My seat was very close to the runway, and when I saw your shoe almost fall off, I nearly gasped. I didn't expect you to kick off the shoe and walk the entire runway without losing your stride or presence."

He emphasized, "That will definitely become a classic moment of the Victoria's Secret show."

Karolina Kurkova looked a bit embarrassed, "No matter what, it was a mistake. In that situation, I had to adapt quickly."

Matthew agreed, "Indeed." He added, "That's why people admire you."

Karolina Kurkova was puzzled by Matthew's last comment and looked at him in confusion.

"I'm not very familiar with the modeling world," Matthew said tactfully, "but if this happened in Hollywood, an actress with a shoe problem in front of everyone would likely fall, and it would become a major focus for the media and the public."

"This kind of thing happens in the modeling world too," Karolina Kurkova acknowledged, "but when a model falls on the runway, it can have a significant impact on her career, unlike an actress falling on the red carpet, which only becomes gossip."

She suddenly looked at Matthew, "Have you ever fallen on the red carpet?"

"Me?" Matthew shook his head quickly, joking, "My persona doesn't allow me to fall."

Hearing this, Karolina Kurkova couldn't help but laugh, "Do you also have personas like models do?"

Matthew didn't deny it, "Of course, my persona is strong, handsome, and charming!"

Karolina Kurkova laughed even more, "Aren't you just boasting?"

Matthew spread his hands, "I am like this in reality."

A familiar face greeted Matthew, and he nodded in response before turning back to Karolina Kurkova, "Do you have a persona too?"

Karolina Kurkova shrugged slightly.

"Don't tell me, let me guess." Matthew looked Karolina Kurkova up and down. Her natural blonde hair, green eyes, full pink lips, curvy figure, and long, sexy legs were her proud assets.

Karolina Kurkova watched Matthew with interest, sensing that the Hollywood star was very interested in her. She didn't mind at all; he was charming, handsome, witty, and one of the most prominent figures in the banquet hall.

Just his pursuit would satisfy her vanity, especially among the "plastic flower" Victoria's Secret Angels, giving her a lot of face.

She had noticed Adriana Lima looking over with envy and jealousy just moments ago.

Matthew rubbed his chin and said to Karolina Kurkova, "I've got it. The greatest gift from the Czech Republic... hmm, that's too long. It should be the Light of the Czech Republic!"

"Uh..." Karolina Kurkova was stunned and didn't know what to say.

"Yes, the Light of the Czech Republic," Matthew said naturally, as if it were obvious. "KK, you are the Light of the Czech Republic."

Karolina Kurkova regained her composure, "Thank you. But Matthew, you're too kind."

Matthew was about to continue when a middle-aged woman in a suit walked up quickly and whispered something to Karolina Kurkova, seemingly urgent.

Karolina Kurkova nodded and said to Matthew, "It was a pleasure meeting you. This has been a delightful evening." She extended her right hand, "I have to go now, something urgent came up. Let's chat another time."

Matthew could tell the middle-aged woman was likely Karolina Kurkova's agent. He shook Karolina Kurkova's hand, "It's a shame we can't continue this enjoyable conversation."

"KK." He didn't give up easily, asking eagerly, "Can I have your phone number? So we can continue our conversation another time."

Karolina Kurkova thought for a moment, reached out to her agent, who immediately handed her a business card. Instead of taking it, Karolina Kurkova indicated for her agent to fetch another, pure white card, which she handed to Matthew.

"This is my card with my private number," Karolina Kurkova said, "I might not pick up when I'm working, but you can text me."

Matthew took it and said, "We'll stay in touch."

Karolina Kurkova nodded seriously, "We'll stay in touch."

Her agent whispered again, and Karolina Kurkova waved at Matthew before turning to leave the banquet hall.

Watching her leave, Matthew felt a bit regretful. He had set two main targets during the show at the Kodak Theatre. One of them, a round-faced model, wasn't at the banquet, and now Karolina Kurkova had to leave unexpectedly. Should he switch to a new target?

Among the Victoria's Secret Angels, not only was Karolina Kurkova known by her initials KK, but there was also someone referred to as AA.

Also, Adriana Lima wasn't bad.

Matthew hadn't seen AA, but Adriana Lima was in the hall. After watching her for a while and waiting until she was alone, he took a champagne glass from a waiter and walked over.

At the entrance of the banquet hall, Miranda Kerr, in full dress, had just arrived.

Her agent, who had been inside the hall, guided her towards Matthew, "He's over there."

Miranda Kerr, with sharp eyes, spotted Matthew Horner holding a wine glass and walking towards the far left corner through the sparse guests in the hall.

She should have arrived earlier, but her initial outfit was too conservative for her plan, so she had to change. Fortunately, her agent had been keeping an eye on Matthew Horner, who had not left the hall.

"Let's go." Miranda Kerr headed towards him, asking her agent, "Do you think approaching him as a fan is a good idea?"

Her agent agreed, "That's a good plan." He then asked, "Have you seen Matthew Horner's movies?"

"I've seen some," Miranda Kerr said, weaving through the guests, "I've watched most of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith'."

"Good." The agent reminded, "Approach him as a fan and ask about the film industry. That will help break the ice."

Miranda Kerr, now less than twenty feet away, saw Matthew suddenly stop as a thin young man with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley blocked his path, talking about something.

Was this man introducing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Matthew Horner?

Miranda Kerr instinctively slowed down. Matthew Horner was her top choice but not her only option.

However, there seemed to be no one more suitable than Matthew Horner in the hall.

Should she go over and confront Rosie Huntington-Whiteley? The thought was strong because Rosie was not a Victoria's Secret Angel and was competing for an Angel contract.

But she gave up on the idea as the young man and Rosie walked away.

Without needing her agent's prompt, Miranda Kerr quickened her pace and approached Matthew Horner, seizing the moment when he was alone.

Watching David Ellison leave with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Matthew sighed. David moved even faster than him and would probably boast about it later.

At that moment, he saw the round-faced model walking towards him.

Miranda Kerr, with a sweet smile and a look of surprise, greeted him, "Matthew? Oh my God, it's really you, Matthew!"
