Chapter 633: A Genuine Transaction

The next morning, a ringing phone woke Matthew and also woke Karolina Kurkova. Seeing that it was Helen Herman calling, Matthew got up, went outside the suite to answer the call, and after a few words, he hung up and went to the washroom. After washing up and dressing, he called David Ellison and then returned to the bedroom, where Karolina Kurkova was already dressed.

"Sorry, KK," Matthew said, putting on his Rolex from the nightstand. "There's an urgent matter in Los Angeles. I have to head back immediately."

Karolina Kurkova gathered her long blonde hair into a ponytail and asked, "Is it that urgent?"

Matthew explained honestly, "There's a strike in Hollywood right now, affecting my company. I need to go back and handle it."

He put on his coat, pinched Karolina Kurkova's cheek, and said, "It was a wonderful night. I believe you're innocent now."

Returning to the room last night, they had shared everything openly. Matthew was convinced Karolina Kurkova was genuinely innocent.

Matthew gathered his things and added, "The room is paid for until 2 PM. You can rest a bit more if you want."

Karolina Kurkova nodded gently.

"Also," Matthew said, "I'll arrange for breakfast to be brought up in an hour and a half."

As he spoke, Karolina Kurkova's eyes blinked continuously. From her perspective, Matthew left a very good impression: strong, handsome, capable, skilled, and considerate.

A one-night stand partner like this couldn't be better.

But that wasn't why she had come up with this Hollywood star. She did enjoy it immensely, but it wasn't the result she wanted.

"Goodbye, KK," Matthew waved with a smile. "I'll be in touch."

He turned to leave but was stopped by a hand grabbing his arm.

Matthew turned back, puzzled. "KK, is there something else?"

Karolina Kurkova smiled. "Matthew, did you forget something?"

"Uh?" Matthew looked around, thinking he had left something behind. "It seems... not?"

Karolina Kurkova kept holding his arm, staring at him seriously for a few seconds to make sure he wasn't pretending, and then reminded him, "Matthew, someone like you can buy anything they want."

Matthew was confused but starting to understand a bit. "Like this bottle of wine from the hotel?" Karolina Kurkova picked up an empty bottle and tossed it in her hand. "How much is it worth?"

"Not expensive," Matthew said, smiling. "KK, don't worry. All expenses in this room are on my tab."

Karolina Kurkova frowned slightly, not expecting Matthew to misunderstand so much. "How much would I be worth if sold to the hotel?"

Matthew sincerely praised, "The light of the Czech Republic is priceless."

"Everything, including people, has a price," Karolina Kurkova said.

"Uh..." Matthew finally understood.

But he was slow to react because he had never encountered such a situation before and hadn't thought about how to handle it.

Karolina Kurkova said directly, "Matthew, how much should you pay for last night?"

"Wait, KK!" Matthew broke free from her hand, sat on the sofa, and looked at her. "Give me a moment. I'm a bit confused right now."

Seeing that Matthew had no intention of leaving, Karolina Kurkova sat opposite him.

Within a few breaths, Matthew sorted out his thoughts. Karolina Kurkova's meaning was simple: he had had a real encounter with her last night, and he needed to pay her a certain amount.

He had never experienced this before. In the past, it was always mutual needs; they hit it off, then had a wild time together. He enjoyed it, and so did the other party.

But Karolina Kurkova wanted more than that.

"KK, I..." Matthew was at a loss for words, having never been in such a situation.

Karolina Kurkova said again, "I spent the whole night with you. How much should you pay me?"

This was a genuine transaction. Matthew sighed inwardly and said, "Name your price, KK."

Hearing this, Karolina Kurkova instinctively wanted to raise two fingers but thought better of it and raised one.

Matthew didn't think it was one thousand dollars; Victoria's Secret models weren't that cheap. He immediately asked, "One hundred thousand dollars?"

Karolina Kurkova didn't speak, just smiled at him. After a while, she said, "One million!"

Matthew frowned but didn't argue. He nodded and said, "Give me an account, and I'll have a million dollars transferred to you."

Seeing Matthew so straightforward, Karolina Kurkova immediately provided an account. Matthew called Bella Anderson, then told Karolina Kurkova, "You'll receive it in half an hour."

"Thank you, Matthew," Karolina Kurkova said with a smile. "You have my number. Feel free to contact me anytime."

Matthew didn't say much more. "Goodbye, KK."

Although she hadn't received the money yet, Karolina Kurkova believed Matthew wouldn't default. Since meeting him last year, she had paid attention to his various information, confirming he was a very high-quality client.

So, when Matthew made a subtle invitation last night, she followed him to the room.

It wasn't just about the money; he had to be someone she found appealing.

Leaving the luxury suite, Matthew sighed. Compared to last night's enjoyment, he was now somewhat depressed.

It felt like thinking a beautiful woman was conquered by his charm, only to find she was interested in his wallet.

But by the time he reached the lobby, Matthew had mostly come to terms with it. Given his turnover rate with partners, it was inevitable he'd encounter such a situation eventually. Hollywood and the modeling world were both messy, with many hidden clubs. The modeling world was even messier than Hollywood...

Not having encountered it in previous years was just good luck.

Not to mention, the Red Penguin Company, which provided maintenance services for the Horner Manor, also secretly ran similar party services. List had told him he had excellent model resources.

Last night, after exploring thoroughly, Karolina Kurkova had given a lot, so asking for payment wasn't unreasonable.

The only unpleasant part was her mentioning payment after the fact.

Oh well... Matthew shook his head. He had already enjoyed it, and he was a professional.

Arriving at the hotel lobby, David Ellison was pacing at the entrance, anxious. Seeing Matthew, he complained, "What's going on, Matthew? You call me early in the morning, drag me out of comfort to rush back to Los Angeles, and you're late!"

Matthew pushed him out of the hotel, got into the car he had ordered, and said, "You have nothing else to do, so accompany me back to Los Angeles."

David Ellison glanced at the driver and didn't ask further.

At the airport, David Ellison's private jet was ready. Often, money meant convenience. Shortly after noon, the plane took off, heading back to North America.

"That's about it."

There were no outsiders on the plane. Matthew briefly recounted the morning's events to David Ellison. "I paid Karolina Kurkova one million dollars for her services last night."

David Ellison laughed. "So, there's a woman who values money over you."

Matthew acknowledged. "It seems I don't have more appeal than money."

Before boarding, Karolina Kurkova had sent him a thank-you message. The million dollars had already been transferred.

"This is the result of you disturbing others' sleep!" David Ellison continued to complain. "If it weren't for your call, I'd still be enjoying Heidi Klum's company."

Matthew shook his head. "Victoria's Secret models are not simple."

David Ellison clearly didn't believe the models were different. "What do they want from us? Love?"

Matthew laughed. "Do you expect true love from them?"

"I never thought so." David Ellison lowered his voice. "Do you know how much I spent to win over Heidi Klum?"

"I thought you used your charm to conquer her," Matthew said deliberately.

David Ellison shrugged, raising two fingers. "I gave her two million dollars! Otherwise, would she have left with me?"

Matthew sighed. "Money moves hearts."

David Ellison added, "I've heard that Victoria's Secret angels, the most famous ones, earn five to six million dollars a year. Those less famous would be lucky to have a seven-figure income. Earning nearly half a year's income in one night, who wouldn't be tempted?"

He continued, "These supermodels have had countless affairs along the way. Do you think they care about this?"

"So, Matthew," David Ellison advised, "if you ever get tired of playing around, don't marry a supermodel."

"Marriage? I haven't considered it." Matthew shook his head. "I'd only marry under two conditions. First, if I'm drunk! Second, if I'm completely disappointed in myself."
