Luck Indicator

Blake paused, imagining a dramatic scene in his mind. He stood atop a towering platform, releasing bursts of fiery light for dramatic effect before delivering an impassioned speech to win followers.

"Hiss... Why does this feel oddly familiar?" he muttered, shaking the image away. After wrestling with the thought, he realized there wasn't much to ponder. Recruiting followers wasn't an insurmountable task, especially with his recent power-ups. As long as he started building a network of loyal supporters, his strength would only grow.

Determined, Blake decided: "System, install the illustrated module."

[Ding! The system is installing this module.]

[Ding! The system is being upgraded.]

[Ding! The upgrade is complete! The illustrated module has been successfully added. The host may now access it at any time.]

Excited, Blake whispered, "Open the illustrated module."

A panel appeared before him, resembling a blank book. Each page shimmered faintly, but no names or images had been recorded yet.

Blake deduced that a person must pledge their loyalty before appearing in the book. Having friendly relations wasn't enough—total commitment was required.

Scrutinizing the empty book, Blake touched his chin thoughtfully. "Now, who could I bring into the fold?"

Several names flashed through his mind, but none seemed ideal. "Sigh... Looks like I'll need to build my reputation first."

As Blake contemplated his strategy, a system notification interrupted him.

[Ding! A follower who voluntarily pledges loyalty has been detected. Would you like to include them in the illustrated book?]

"Huh?" Blake looked at the screen in confusion. He hadn't even started recruiting yet. Who could it be?

"System, show me the details."

[Ding! Retrieving data...]

After a while, another notification popped up.

[Ding! The data was retrieved successfully! Please check it, host!]

A blurred image appeared in the book's frame, alongside faint text. Blake tapped it, revealing the photo and a brief profile of the individual. He recognized the smiling face instantly.

"Ah, Gabriel Delacour. I almost forgot about her," Blake sighed, shaking his head.

The system listed her traits: one-quarter Veela, encountered Blake in France, and bonded with him under unique circumstances.

Gabriel's inclusion made sense. Her Veela blood had made her susceptible to Blake's Poké Ball during a past encounter, creating a bond akin to magical taming. Though her human heritage prevented total submission, her affection for Blake had skyrocketed.

After considering, Blake decided, "Hold off on including Gabriel for now."

To him, there was a clear distinction between friends and followers. While Gabriel met the criteria, Blake wasn't ready to label her a subordinate.

[Ding! The target has been placed on hold. To include her in the future, simply revisit her profile.]

Satisfied, Blake returned to exploring the book's potential. With the Eye of Truth to assess abilities and the illustrated book to secure loyalty, he could systematically identify and recruit talented individuals. The promise of attribute bonuses from loyal followers made the prospect even more enticing.

Next, Blake turned his attention to the glowing egg he'd retrieved earlier from his system inventory. This mythical beast egg, a reward from a previous secret realm, had been waiting for this moment.

"System, hatch the mythical beast egg!" Blake commanded.

[Ding! Initiating the hatching process.]

[Ding! Please Note, that the mythical beast will recognize the host as soon as it is born and will not rebel.]

The gray egg shimmered as cracks formed along its surface. Bright golden light burst forth, momentarily blinding Blake. He braced himself, expecting a dramatic roar like those from his previous mythical companions, the phoenix and white Tiger.

Instead, silence filled the room. Curious, Blake activated the Eye of Truth to peer through the golden glow. His mouth twitched. The "mythical beast" emerging from the egg wasn't roaring because it lacked the ability to do so.

"Crack!"

Before him stood a tiny black turtle, its shell gleaming under the dissipating light.

Blake suppressed a chuckle. "Well, turtles don't bark unless they're in real distress, right?"

Despite its unassuming appearance, the turtle radiated golden light under the Eye of Truth, signifying legendary potential.

Blake crouched to examine his new companion. "Can you grow bigger?" he asked, extending a finger toward the turtle. The creature shook its head.

"So, size manipulation isn't your thing," Blake noted. "What are your abilities?"

The turtle tilted its head thoughtfully, then gestured with its tiny claws. Blake was startled to realize he could understand its actions intuitively.

"You're saying you can perform divinations?" Blake guessed.

The turtle nodded. Encouraged, Blake pressed further. "What exactly can you predict?"

Through a series of gestures, the turtle conveyed its limitations: it could foretell good or bad outcomes for specific actions but lacked clarity on details.

Blake frowned. "So, you're like a luck indicator. Useful, but not very precise."

The turtle nodded again, seemingly shy about its modest skillset. Still, Blake saw potential.

"What's your name?" he asked. The turtle scratched its shell with a claw, then pointed skyward. Blake immediately understood.

"Reginald? Fitting for a legendary turtle."

The turtle bobbed its head, acknowledging the name. Blake decided to test its ability. "Can you divine whether something good will happen to me tomorrow?"

Reginald closed its eyes, its body glowing faintly. A shadowy serpent appeared above its shell, swirling briefly before vanishing. The turtle opened its eyes and began scratching random marks on the ground.

Blake studied the scratches, astonished to decipher their meaning. "You're saying nothing bad will happen tomorrow, but something good awaits me outside the Gryffindor common room seven days from now?"

Reginald nodded, proud of its prediction. Blake grinned. "Well done, Reginald."

Blake rewarded the turtle with a piece of cod, sharing it from Qing Yue's bucket. As Reginald ate contentedly, Blake took a small sample of its blood, intrigued by its potential longevity properties.

Returning to his research station, Blake whispered, "With the Eye of Truth, the illustrated book, and now Reginald, I'm practically unstoppable."

In the coming days, Blake planned to refine his recruitment strategy. Between divinations from Reginald and careful observation with the Eye of Truth, he would build a formidable team.
