Preparer

Tension had suddenly invaded the entire village, the Dhakat clan although they were their enemies, seeing them disappear suddenly had destabilized them.

Cliff had ordered to wait until the young elves had rested to continue their "questioning" because he was lost by all the information that was revealed to him, hordes?, decimated clan?, What was all that?, And why NOW ?

Apparently a large scale invasion of monsters was threatening their existence, lots of questions were flooding through his head, and for this they gathered everyone for an emergency meeting to determine how to react to this threat.

They were obviously going to defend themselves, but Rakahn had told him that there was a mutual aid agreement between the allied clans in these kinds of situations.

If Cliff had ordered them, they would refuse to go of course but breaking the hard-built bonds between allies was out of the question and Cliff knew it too.

Cliff believed that, on the contrary, having potential allies would be more beneficial to him because he did not really know the dangerous levels of the monsters they would face.

On the table, a map was spread out, it seemed to be very old, you could see cracks everywhere in various corners of it.

Cliff had let his eyes wander over the map, he was trying to locate himself, until he saw some symbols or rather he read "clan Orleth" on them, Cliff himself was surprised to be able to read this language which was unknown to him.

How if everything made sense instantly in his head, Cliff's eyes had widened involuntarily by this revelation or rather this evidence that had escaped him.

How could he understand the inhabitants of this world?, and vice versa too? Is it a self-translation mechanism? If he wrote something in the language of his native country, would he understand it too?

"Whore ! It's a myriad of questions that keep coming back."

After the murmurs subsided Rakahn spoke;

-"We are gathered today to find out how we should act in the face of this threat that hangs over not only our clan but the entire southwest part of the forest"

"Hmm Rakahn I'm a little lost, you only told me briefly about the clans, it would be very cool if you do it now, don't you think?"

"Yes my lord, I apologize, I judged that it was not important to bother you with trifles from the clans of little value to you" said Rakahn in a firm tone.

"And now I do" Cliff replied irritated.

"This guy's regard for me is getting more and more frightening, look at him, he doesn't seem to be very sorry." he thought, looking at Rakahn doubtfully.

Rakahn had explained to him that in this forest, there were 9 clans, there were 12 before but 3 had disappeared in previous monster invasions, and that was the cause of the mutual aid agreement between the clans in desperate situations like this, the nine clans were all demi-human but did not come from the same race like: the Orleth clan which descends from the one-horned ogres, the Dhakat clan from the two-horned ogres, the Spirit Elves clan of water and earth, the dwarf clan of earth spirits, the Ibara clan of lycanthropes and there was the shizukesa clan are pythonians, the Orion clan descends from lamias, the Xarus clan of stryges and finally the clan Styra of succubi, they were not all equal in terms of raw strength but they developed different techniques over the years allowing them to compete with each other.

Clan Orleth had two allies; the beastmen of the Ibara clan and the pythonians of the shizukesa clan and it was only by uniting their forces that they managed to repel the Dhakat clan which was stronger in terms of strength and numbers.

They could not believe that they had been decimated, even if they had caused them harm or were responsible for many losses of their loved ones, they would never have wished them this sad fate, because in the situations like these the Dhakat clan could prove to be one of their greatest strike forces.

-"But now, what are we going to do? How can you react to this?" Rakahn asked, looking in Cliff's direction.

"It goes without saying that we will help them, but we should not only prepare our attack strategy, we should increase our strike force." he said, looking towards the map.

Cliff was analyzing the map, he had noticed that the closest clan was the Ibara clan, if he could join forces with them, together they could more easily bring aid to the elf clan and so when the elf clan was more securely they could launch the offensive.

Suddenly an idea came to his mind, Cliff had a satisfied look on his face as he thought of the most effective way to use this idea.

"Alright, let's try that."

"Rakahn, you told me that elves can heal themselves if they recover enough mana, right?"

"Yes my lord we gave them the crystal which contained the mana that you purified" Rakahn replied.

"Very well, when they are finished, ask them to give you a more detailed report on the situation"

"Dahlia, have you finished what I asked you yet?"

"Yes my lord" she replied revealing a smile.

"Where is Seth?"

A small voice was heard among the crowd "I am here my lord" he said, raising his hand in the air to be noticed.

"Okay, go get the mana stones, we're going to need them right away" Cliff ordered.

"Are you smiling my lord!?" Asked Rakahn "do you already have a plan?"

Cliff had gotten so excited that he didn't realize he was smiling.

"Damn, this is frustrating."

He shook his head to clear his thoughts, he turned towards the crowd.

"Let everyone who wants to make a pact with me line up" he shouted

In this looming "war" everyone had their role to play, he was going to fulfill his.
