Four men

Yadha DAKHAT

After the bloody battle, the moment came to decide whether my life was worthy of continuing or not.

I was sitting in the corner, wrapping my arms around my knees, staring at the ground with a gloomy expression on my face.

Viola stood next to me, stroking my hair, constantly telling me that everything was going to be okay. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't believe it.

After seeing what happened on the battlefield, all my hopes were crushed, Rakahn, Dahlia became strong enough to kill a variant monster and to add to the pile the human they call their master had returned with an Essence Stone from a mutant monster.

How does Lord Cain plan to pressure them into stopping my execution? Even their two powerful archers are almost on the same level as him.

Going against them is pure suicide.

Me and Viola had run to tend to their master's wounds when he passed out after the battle, Viola was the only one they let near their master, leaving me alone with Dahlia staring at me.

Just as I was feeling sorry for myself, I heard footsteps approaching. Four people approached, four men or rather an Elf, a Half-Ogre, a lycanthrope and a Human.

They were chatting along the way, it seems like they weren't the most important people present in this part of the forest, they would be taken for long-time friends.

"Aaah, men are all the same!" moaned Viola softly

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What's the matter with them?"

She gave me a soothing smile.

"See, you had no reason to worry."

"These guys, the way they talk, their discussions are either based on their fighting styles or they just talk about sex business"

"Are you sure that's not your false assumptions? Who would think of that sort of thing in a crisis situation?" I asked.

" Men !" She replied dryly.

"It sounds like you have serious problems with men," I scoffed.

"Didn't you see the way Sir Cliff looked at you? I don't think a carnivorous creature would have coveted a piece of meat like that." Viola replied evenly.

"Men are like that, they only think about their personal pleasures."

At the same time, my eyes and those of Sir Cliff met; he gave me a smile. But I quickly lowered my head.

I waited a few moments, when I no longer heard any noise, I raised my head...

"Boo!"

I realized that Sir Cliff hadn't left but had instead cowered in front of me.

I was so surprised that I staggered backwards and fell headfirst into a wall.

"Ahah, you're really funny, jumping for so little," he said mockingly.

"You shouldn't be afraid of a handsome guy like me."

"Oh shit I covered myself in shame" I thought.

"Sir Brown, how can I help you?" Viola asked in a stern tone.

I frowned at her, a little scared by her attitude, even though I knew she hated humans, this one was still the master of Clan Orleth and he was the strongest among us .

The man smiled, and then looked at me.

"I'm setting up a meeting in a few minutes and we came to pick you up, I'd like you to attend."

The words no longer came to my mind, I didn't know what to say, why this sudden meeting? What were they going to decide once the meeting concluded?

I looked at Viola, she had simply shrugged her shoulders at me, as if saying; "well go ahead!"

I looked away, since his face was close to mine. I got up again with all my problems, all my pain.

"If I have to attend this meeting," I thought, "I might as well do it as a worthy sister of the patriarch of the Dhakat clan."

I took a deep breath of air, then suddenly released it. I looked into his eyes, returning his smile.

"Then let's go sir."
