After war

The sun illuminated the sky with its soft light, everything seemed to suddenly come to life, the first rays of day chased away the deep darkness that the long night had brought.

Kido and the two other clan leaders crossed a field of ruins, going around a large crater left by the final attack of their "presumed allies".

"They didn't show up after the battle, how dare they look down on us like that?" The Lamian suddenly said, clenching his fist hard.

"They must have thought that with their displays of force, we would have to bow to them."

"I think you're thinking too much, I know Rakahn and Akumu, they're the two most livable guys I know, I don't think they'll do that" Kido replied, looking thoughtful.

"And even if they resorted to this whim, we could do nothing against them, didn't you see their last attack which took out more than fifty variant monsters?"

"You're right kido, we had no way to deal with this attack, let's be happy that they are still in our camp." The dwarf said wisely as they calmly walked towards the forest.

"But still," the lamian continued, "the fact that they have changed so much in such a short time intrigues me a lot."

"Right after they cast the spell, a team of people came and quickly dismembered the corpses and disposed of the remains of the bodies by burning them on the spot" Kido commented amusedly.

"Don't you think it's a little too organized for it to be simple reinforcements? Something's up, that's for sure!"

As they approached the camp of clan leader Rakahn, they met a young ogre-human, he looked frail unlike his comrades, his brown eyes were brimming with curiosity. their eyes met and the youth quickly approached them.

"Greetings sirs, my name is Seth, Seth ORLETH, leader of the cleaning crew, how may I help you?" He said, curtsying to them.

"Seth my boy, how have you been lately?, could you let your boss know that we came to see him?"

"I believe they are already on their way, sirs, they have already been informed of your coming." The young man said calmly.

"Already reported you say? How quick you say!?"

Just as Seth was about to open his mouth to respond, several figures appeared from the clump of trees. Rakahn, Renald, Dahlia and Yadha appeared on the horizon, armored and heading straight in their direction.

"Well, speaking of the wolf!" The dwarf said suddenly, playing with his beard.

"I'm so sorry to meet you now, I should take care of something very urgent." Said Rakahn, giving them a warm smile.

"Ah Rakahn my friend, still so livable, uh... but what was that attack that you launched that could have even taken away our clan's barrier?, it was really dangerous man!!" Kido asked, slapping him hard on the back.

"Ouch!, I'm sorry, I didn't know it would be so devastating, it was the first time the elves used this attack so we tried everything" Rakahn replied painfully.

"Come to my tent, we have a lot to talk about"

The clan leaders kindly accepted his invitation, they walked for almost a minute, crossing the encampment where the elves, Lycanthropes and half-ogres had stationed themselves after the battle.

"How do you absorb the essence stones of a creature killed by someone else?" The lamian asked, his eyes widening as he saw two soldiers exchange their essence stones.

"Ah, how can I say it's a long story, we'll reach the tent soon, I'll tell you everything once there" Rakahn replied firmly.

"Honestly, I have a lot to say to you too, Rakahn, it seems to me that your attitude has changed slightly." Said Kido, casting a curious look at the two-horned warrior who was next to Renald.

Rakahn immediately understood what he was hinting at, so he lowered his head slightly with a gloomy expression, not knowing how to respond.

"Lord Kido, I find your behavior very inappropriate towards our officer." Dahlia retorted, frowning slightly.

"Your officer? Those are terms I don't know" he mocked

Dahlia gave him a strangely angry look, but she held back and let out a deep sigh.

"Ignorance!! » she thought.

A moment later they all entered a large tent, which was guarded by two soldiers, a lycanthrope and an elf, both carrying a long spear. They nodded as Rakahn waved at them with one hand.

Before the tent there was a small table, with a map spread out on it.

They surrounded the table, leaving Rakahn at the head waiting for him to speak.

At the same time Rakahn clapped his hands together loudly and cleared his throat.

"Should we start?"
