The scene was blazing with fire, and lightning crackling through the air.
Danny watched with fascination and at the same time a little worried, could he ever reach this level himself? It seemed quite challenging.
"Danny, run!" Having lived in Kunlun for four years, he knew a couple of people. Seeing him fascinated by the battle, fearing he might get caught in the vortex and hang up, two people each grabbed one of his arms and pulled him towards the courtyard.
The group scattered and fled in panic, fearing they might be too slow. The scene was too dangerous; with bad luck, one could end up meeting Kunlun's ancestors by catching a fire fist or a thunder palm.
Despite the chaos around them, the two fighters did not slow down. After their fists collided, Daisy began a fierce attack, a thought in her mind urging her to destroy, obliterate, and flatten everything before her.
Daisy knew the Phoenix Force was slowly influencing her. In her view, it was better to loosen than to constrain, something Professor Charles Xavier might not fully understand. However, he chose constraint, while Daisy chose release.
Flames erupted out of nowhere, a large red mist evaporating from behind Daisy. Amidst the haze, a giant phoenix shadow emerged, its brilliance overshadowing Kunlun's sunrise glow, casting a red light across half the mountain peak.
The radiance was dazzling, but the shadow was faint, almost imperceptible without looking carefully. Yet, Leigong recognized it. His eyes turned extremely serious; each outline of the Phoenix shadow etched into his memory as if he wanted to imprint the pattern firmly in his mind.
Leigong took a deep breath and exhaled completely. With a loud roar, he activated all of his chi. This was not about honor or duty; after hundreds of years of cultivating his chi, he wanted to see what he could achieve now.
His shoulders trembled, bones cracking like popping beans throughout his body, crisp and continuous. His height of 1.9 meters increased by several centimeters out of thin air, the movement of chi in the air making the atmosphere heavier.
Daisy's fists were surrounded by flames, carrying immense power as she relentlessly struck Leigong. Even without advanced martial techniques, she understood the basics of combat.
Without intricate moves, it boiled down to pure strength and speed. Even martial arts master Leigong struggled to keep up.
Realizing his attacks were weaker than the opponent's, Leigong quickly changed tactics, using the agility of wind and thunder, whether by blocking, parrying, or dodging, constantly countering Daisy's fierce attacks.
Prolonged attacks were futile; Daisy, with her flaming palms, became increasingly impatient.
Leigong almost gave up on attacking, fully focusing on defense, ready to exhaust Daisy's Phoenix Force with his enduring chi.
One was attacking with all her might, the other was determined to hold out.
Whether the attacker would ultimately prevail, or the defender would endure to the end, the battle was fiercely in a stalemate, and it was hard to say who would win.
Daisy fought with enthusiasm, gradually no longer sticking to martial arts. She manipulated gravity, flying three meters high in the air like a true firebird, occasionally swooping down to disrupt Leigong's defensive rhythm.
The previous confrontation could be described as martial arts, but flying into the air was a bit foul.
Leigong had no complaints; he did not expect the Phoenix to engage in ground combat with him. His hundreds of years of mental training kept him calm and cautious, focusing solely on consuming Daisy's Phoenix Force.
As the battle dragged on, the Phoenix Force would inevitably weaken.
Leigong was confident, but his disciples didn't share his thoughts.
They only saw Daisy swooping through the sky, attacking swiftly and fiercely. Their teacher seemed to be passively taking a beating as if about to lose?
Daisy's momentum grew stronger, and the Phoenix was very satisfied with her. A faint chirping emanated from the air, reinforcing her strength by another 20%. Discarding the fancy footwork, she mobilized her entire body's strength, punching straight down the middle.
The flames tore through the sky, it was as if the clouds were all lit. Daisy carried an uninterrupted sea of fire, and with this punch, everyone in Kunlun unconsciously took a step backward.
The force was irresistible, even affecting part of the natural phenomenon. Leading the charge, Leigong sweated heavily, feeling the pressure almost bending his spine. It was as if he wasn't facing a person but the entirety of Kunlun.
Faced with this strike, he wasn't confident he could catch it. However, the situation didn't allow him time to contemplate. Leigong roared once more, mobilizing all of his chi again like an overdraft, hands raised to endure this punch.
"Hey..." A sigh echoed in everyone's ears. The Respected One in green appeared between them like a ghost. He pushed Leigong's arm aside with his left hand and grasped Daisy's fist with his right, borrowing momentum from both, executing a neat aerial maneuver that swapped the positions of the two.
"Your battle is unnecessary," he said calmly, but his tone brooked no argument.
Leigong immediately bowed and apologized, while Daisy had vented her anger and returned to normal. This Respected One didn't know how many centuries he had practiced his art. She had an intuition that she couldn't defeat him and, like Leigong, chose to bow and continue pretending to be mute.
Looking at Daisy, the Respected One sighed inwardly, and also had the same idea as Nick Fury at this time. This girl was too troublesome!
If their battle continued, they would dismantle half of the sacred mountain. He had no choice but to intervene.
On one hand, he felt Daisy was too reckless; starting a fight at the slightest disagreement was hardly in line with Kunlun's principles. On the other hand, he also blamed Leigong. You came up to teach her stances and punches, but your perfunctory attitude was too obvious.
Both had their responsibilities. The Respected One signaled Daisy to accompany him.
They walked to a pond together, and the Respected One spoke first.
"The Phoenix will eventually return again, and the Iron Fist is the only weapon of suppression," he opened.
Daisy disagreed with this. The Phoenix had never truly entered the Marvel Multiverse. It existed in dimensions probably higher than ten, with a host in every universe simultaneously. In other words, it had countless hosts at any given time. Jean Grey was the most perfect, the most captivating to the Phoenix's gaze, but not the only one.
Whether Black Phoenix or White Phoenix, they were just parts of the Phoenix, insignificant fragments.
As the source of Iron Fist's power, defeating Shou-Lao involved devouring his heart through a ritual. But to rely on the power of a dragon, the Guardian beast of KunLun to defeat an Almighty-Universe level Phoenix?
Daisy could only say they were thinking too much. The previous female Iron Fist defeated was just a fragment of the Phoenix, a projection of its power when it first saw Earth.
