What Do You Think You're Doing?

After a while, she gradually sensed that something was amiss—the footsteps were coming closer to her.Alice opened her eyes in the darkness, feeling someone standing outside and pacing around her car, seemingly searching for a way in.She quietly unlocked the car; anyone outside could just pull the door open.

Just then, someone outside grabbed the car handle. They intended to see if they could open it, but the next moment, the door was pulled open. The person felt a surge of excitement and leaned into the car to peer inside.

Alice was lying on the makeshift bed made from the seats, covered with a blanket, breathing evenly in deep sleep.

The intruder stealthily crept into the car, silently moving towards Alice. His large hand fell on her waist, his gaze filled with desire. Just as he was about to make a move, a calm voice sounded from inside the car, "What do you think you're doing?"

Emory never expected Alice to suddenly wake up. He froze for a moment, and the next second, Alice sat up. Without waiting for him to react, she kicked him out of the car.

Before getting out of the car, Alice turned on the headlights. She stood in front of Emory.

"You dare to lay a hand on me, you wretch?" Emory's face twisted into a vicious expression, clearly not considering Alice a threat.

Alice cracked her knuckles, producing crisp popping sounds, and gestured to Emory, her tone full of disdain, "Come at me."

Enraged by her provocation, Emory, already frustrated from his encounter with Hurley earlier, immediately charged at her.

Alice didn't rush; she easily knocked him down and tested his resistance. She almost had him pinned down. "With such limited skills, you dare to harm others? Wasn't your mother teaching you anything?"

"Shut up, you filthy bitch..."

"Slap, slap, slap~" Alice struck him repeatedly across the face, "Let these slaps remind you to show some respect to women."

The sounds of their scuffle woke the others up, and Hurley immediately rushed out.

The others had never seen Alice fight before and didn't know she was this capable. Seeing her swell Emory's face with her blows, they were momentarily stunned.

What was this? Women were just as capable as men!Hurley didn't just stand by like the others; he ran over and forcefully kicked the man away.

Others: "..."

Emory once again found himself defeated under Hurley's feet.

Fletcher led some people to hold Emory back, asking puzzledly, "Miss Alice, what happened?"

Alice replied calmly, "Emory tried to assault me, and then I beat him up."

This statement brought a chilling look into Hurley's eyes as he walked towards Emory.

"Mr. Hurley, please calm down," Fletcher said, but Hurley pushed him aside without a word.

The others could only watch as Hurley fought with Emory.

Or rather, watched as Emory was beaten up.

Because Emory was no match for Hurley at all. In the end, he could only beg for mercy incessantly, "I'm sorry, I was wrong, I won't dare again, ahh..."

"I didn't touch her, really, please stop, help!"

Before long, Emory was left battered and bruised, barely recognizable.

Seeing Hurley's ferocious demeanor, even Fletcher felt scared. He didn't dare to intervene and could only look at Alice, "Miss Alice, could you please persuade him? We'll report this incident to the Base Commander when we get back, and let the Base Commander decide how to punish you, okay?"

They held positions of authority at the base, but their primary responsibility was to protect its security. If they made mistakes, they would face punishment as well.

Alice walked over and stopped Hurley's next punch. "Let him go this time."After all, she hadn't suffered any losses. Before Hurley came out, she had already beaten Emory to a pulp.

Hurley stopped, but his expression remained grim.

Seeing this, Alice lowered her voice, "I intentionally opened the car door to let him in."She wasn't that foolish; if she hadn't been confident in dealing with Emory, she wouldn't have set this trap.Hurley's expression softened slightly, but the thought of someone harboring ill intentions towards Alice still irritated him. He wished he could go over and kick Emory a few more times.

Emory had first been beaten up by Alice and then assaulted by Hurley. Now he was in too much pain to move, only writhing on the ground in agony.

Both of them had shown no mercy at all.

Fletcher quickly had someone carry Emory back.

The others also dared not approach Alice. My god, this woman was too terrifying.

Thinking about the jokes they had made, they swallowed nervously, silently admonishing themselves not to speak nonsense in the future.

They were lucky Alice hadn't retaliated against them, or their fate would have been the same as Emory's.

"It's getting late, let's all go back and rest," Fletcher gave the others a meaningful look, urging them to leave quickly.

They didn't want to anger Hurley. After this incident, everyone could see that these two were a couple.

"You should go back and rest too," Alice yawned. Fighting also drained a lot of energy.

Hurley scrutinized her and frowned. "You sure you didn't suffer any losses?"

Alice shook her head and chuckled softly, "You underestimate me too much. If I couldn't win, I would have used my gun."

Hurley finally showed a hint of a smile. "Go back and rest. If you encounter danger in the future, remember to call out to me."

"Mmm, got it."Alice said

They each went back to their cars, and Alice locked hers again.

The next morning.

Alice was up early as usual, and Emory quickly avoided her at a distance.

The scenes from last night were still vivid in his mind. Emory hadn't originally intended to do anything to Alice, but after being kicked by Hurley, he felt resentful.Thinking about how Hurley cared about Alice, he harbored thoughts of revenge against her in the middle of the night.Little did he know that he would end up being the one suffering.

Alice also noticed Emory. He limped as he walked, clutching his waist, his face twisted in pain with every step.Served Emory right for entertaining inappropriate thoughts.

It was bad enough that he had to deal with, and now someone clueless was coming straight to him.

Seeing such an ominous figure early in the morning, Alice stared at the flowers and plants nearby for a while to clear her mind.

Just as Emory had managed to avoid Alice, he turned his head and saw Hurley walking over from nearby. He inwardly cursed his luck, ignoring his body's pain as he hurriedly crawled into his car.

Nobody paid much attention to Emory as they had breakfast and continued up the mountain to move the weapons.

Hurley and Alice walked at the back. She pulled him aside to talk, "Should we transfer the weapons in the trucks into the space?"

She was worried about encountering robbers on the road or other unforeseen events. No one could guarantee there were no spies among them, and in case of emergencies, with so many boxes on the truck, there would be no way to avoid suspicion by moving them into the space. With the weapons on the mountain nearly moved, they had to plan ahead.

Hurley pondered for a moment, then nodded slightly, "You go ahead and collect the weapons from the two trucks. I'll try to stall them as much as possible."He couldn't afford to be careless, nor did he want to take risks.

"Okay," Alice replied softly.

After the discussion, they went their separate ways.

Everyone had already gone up the mountain to move the weapons. Alice opened the first truck, which was filled with boxes. To avoid arousing suspicion, she left the outer layer of boxes and collected the rest.It took her ten minutes to finish collecting the weapons from the first truck before moving on to the second one.

To buy time, Hurley casually took out some snacks from the space and invited everyone to sit down and eat together.

"You've all worked hard. I see there aren't many boxes left in the armory today, so there's no rush to move them," he said.

The others exchanged puzzled glances. Hurley hadn't said anything like this in the past few days.

"I've got some snacks here. You must be hungry after a while. Come, have a seat," Hurley patted the grass next to him.

Seeing the salted chicken legs, duck wings, and pork trotters, everyone couldn't resist.
