Chapter 387: Uncontrolled Lightning

At this moment, only Peter Parker and Barry Allen were in action together; Johnny Storm and Susan Storm were not present as they were with Pietro and Wanda. If not for sensing Pietro and Wanda's increasing power, they might have worried something had gone wrong with them.

However, even if nothing was amiss, Johnny and Susan wouldn't just leave Pietro and Wanda unattended—they had already taken them home to look after them.

Given the chaotic state of the world at this time, even being at home wasn't necessarily safe, especially with the number of criminals breaking into homes. Johnny and Susan couldn't be too cautious.

Therefore, they had foregone coming out to help maintain public order, leaving only Peter Parker and Barry Allen to follow the guidance of Mjolnir. One flew through the sky, the other ran on the ground, heading towards the Hydra base.

As for Thor and Sif, their battle was far from over; in fact, it had just reached a fever pitch.

In their previous clash, Thor, despite his superior combat skills, was still at a disadvantage, slightly overwhelmed by Sif, even taking damage under her hands. However, as the fight progressed, Thor sensed an increasing strength within himself, enhancing his physical abilities.

This change puzzled Thor, but as he noticed that it allowed him to close the gap in combat strength with Sif, he didn't dwell on it and focused entirely on the battle, not allowing himself to be distracted.

"Hmm?" In the midst of the fight, Sif also noticed something was off. Originally, Thor was only slightly better than her in combat skills, but now his strength and speed seemed to be catching up.

Indeed, the Thor she knew from Asgard had been stronger and faster, but this Thor was clearly not the Thor of Asgard she once knew.

Throughout the battle, Thor remained silent, but Sif did not stop her inquiries, desperately wanting to understand why Thor had become what he was now, although she never received an answer...

Sif speculated whether Thor might have lost his memory along with his hammer and divine power when he fell to Earth.

When she sensed the familiar divine power rising within Thor, instead of panic, Sif felt somewhat relieved. To her, if Thor could reawaken his divine power, it meant he could return to being the God of Thunder from Asgard, which implied he could regain his memory using his divine power!

If that were true, Sif wouldn't need to worry; if Thor regained his memory, every problem could be solved, whether it was their current enemies or threats from Loki in Asgard...

However, Sif was overly simplistic in her thinking. While divine power was indeed resurging within Thor, there was no sign of his memories returning.

"Clang!" As Thor's power grew, the gap between him and Sif narrowed until he finally surpassed her. With a clash of their weapons, Sif's arm trembled, struggling to muster strength. Faced with an incoming kick from Thor, Sif stumbled back awkwardly, trying to dodge.

But Thor's enhancement wasn't just in strength; his speed had also significantly improved, making it difficult for Sif to evade his attacks...

"Clang!" A missed kick didn't stop Thor; he pursued her relentlessly, appearing in front of Sif in a few strides, his battle axe swinging down viciously, met by Sif's sword in defense.

However, the force from the axe now was far greater than before. If initially, Sif could barely fend off Thor's strikes, now she was overwhelmed, retreating explosively with deep gouges marking the ground where her feet dragged.

It was only now that the dust settled, revealing Thor and Sif's battle...

"Hmm? How has his strength increased so much? What happened?" Tohru, observing the scene, furrowed his brow. If previously Thor and Sif were strong enough to challenge him, now Thor was a serious threat!

Especially since Thor's awakening power showed no outward signs, like thunderous energy pulsating around him, unlike the typical Asgardian manifestation, leaving Tohru puzzled about the cause of Thor's newfound strength...

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

As Tohru brooded, the relentless Thor continued his assault, his axe repeatedly striking at Sif, who struggled to defend herself, her complexion growing paler and blood trickling from her hands.

In Sif's view, apart from lacking Mjolnir, Thor's current strength was comparable to before he lost his divine power. She couldn't understand what was happening, especially since the divine power within Thor wasn't fully manifesting...

"Puff!" Overwhelmed by Thor's increasingly powerful attacks, Sif could no longer hold out. Her sword was knocked away, blood sprayed from her mouth, and her body was flung backward.

Facing this, Thor showed no sign of restraint. He disappeared and reappeared

in front of Sif, landing a punch on her chest! Since Tohru had ordered Sif captured, Thor refrained from decapitating her with his axe...

"Bang!" Sif's body hit the ground, losing consciousness just like the other members of the palace's quartet had.

Sif had harbored hopes of awakening Thor's divine power, but now, as she lost consciousness, her last thought was one of regret...

But regret was useless and changed nothing, for Sif had indeed been incapable of defeating Thor from the start; at best, she could have only suppressed him.

Regardless of whether Sif harbored any hope, Thor could surpass her by leveraging the divine power within him.

Of course, had Thor faced Sif initially without the boost from the axe, he might not have emerged victorious...

"Boss, it's done." After knocking Sif unconscious, Thor turned to Tohru. Noticing Tohru's somber expression, Thor hesitated before asking, "Boss, what's the plan? Should we just kill this woman?"

Seeing Tohru's grim look, Thor didn't suspect his boss's mistrust but thought Tohru was dissatisfied with him for not killing Sif.

Thor even wondered if Hydra disfavored female members since he saw few powerful women in Hydra...

"It's fine, bring her back. Once they've recovered from their injuries, you and I will interrogate them together..." Tohru waved his hand at Thor, already considering how to re-brainwash Thor to strengthen his control.

Even though Thor seemed fine for now, Tohru couldn't afford to let an increasingly powerful Thor go unchecked.

"Yes, boss!" Thor, detecting no oddity in Tohru's response, picked up the unconscious Sif and headed into the Hydra base.

Hydra soldiers and animal warriors followed him into the base, while others stayed behind to clean up the battlefield.

After all, the Hydra base was nearby, and leaving the surrounding area uncleared could lead others to discover the base, a risk Hydra couldn't afford to take...

"Hmm? People! So many people! Is this where Mjolnir led us?" The Hydra soldiers didn't notice the gleam of light in the distant sky and on the ground, which quickly vanished.

Peter Parker and Barry Allen paused, looking in the direction of the Hydra soldiers, beginning their discussion.

"After arriving here, Mjolnir became more active..." Peter furrowed his brows, looking towards the direction of the Hydra soldiers, "But these guys don't look like Thor; this place seems more like a military secret base..."

"So Thor was captured by military personnel?" A hint of surprise flashed in Barry's eyes. To him, the demeanor and actions of the Hydra soldiers were indistinguishable from military personnel, which made him somewhat believe in their identity.

Having misjudged the identity of the Hydra soldiers, Barry and Peter hesitated. They were not Robert or Clark, who could disregard the military. Both were wary of official organizations like the military.

Not to mention initiating conflict with military personnel, even without encountering them, Peter and Barry worried that the military might capture them for experimentation upon discovering their anomalies...

"Should we pull out?" With that thought, Peter and Barry instantly agreed. They exchanged a glance and quickly made their decision.

Even if Thor might be present, Peter and Barry did not want to take the risk. This matter could either be reported to Robert after returning, or they could revisit the site with Pietro and others once they recovered...

"Hum!" But just as Peter and Barry were contemplating leaving a marker and retreating, Mjolnir in Peter's hand suddenly emitted an uncontrollable burst of lightning!

Even if Peter hadn't reacted quickly, Mjolnir would have flown from his hand!

Inside the Hydra base, as Thor and the Hydra soldiers were settling Sif, Tohru approached the surveillance equipment, as MacCarthy had yet to be dealt with.

Although the capture of the Asgardian quartet was a victory, the loss of super soldiers and animal warriors was significant, and someone had to take responsibility.

Undoubtedly, MacCarthy, who had concealed everything and had unclear motives, was the perfect person to bear the brunt.

And indeed, it was a perfect moment for Tohru to assert his authority!

After all, not only Tohru and MacCarthy knew how to brainwash like Thor and others, but several others did too, albeit more discreetly. At this moment, Tohru hoped they would remain even more discreet.

With the risk of Thor going rogue, Tohru did not want dissent among his ranks!

"Boss..." MacCarthy was extremely weak, still lying on the ground, unaided and untreated.

Even though MacCarthy had held a high position within the Hydra base, who would dare help someone Tohru had personally attacked?

And it must be said, MacCarthy's will to survive was strong; he struggled to wait for To
