Chapter 528: Speculations About Silver's Effect (Bonus Chapter 1)

At this moment, Martian Manhunter and Peter Parker noticed Tony Stark and the others returning. Their main attention, however, was on Morbius because, while Morbius was showering, Tony Stark had Jarvis send the embarrassing video of Morbius to many Avengers.

When Morbius reappeared, Martian Manhunter's green face showed no expression, but Peter Parker's mouth began to twitch upon seeing Morbius's still slightly wet hair, struggling to hold back his laughter.

Many who have tried to stifle laughter know that sometimes, the more you try, the harder it is to stop. What might not be that funny can become hilarious once you start laughing.

"Pfft! Hahaha!" As Peter Parker's laughter rang out, Martian Manhunter and the instigator, Tony Stark, couldn't help but join in, making Morbius's face darken.

Morbius shot Tony Stark a fierce glare. He didn't need to ask to know why Peter Parker suddenly burst into laughter—Tony Stark had definitely shared his embarrassing moment with everyone!

Morbius had to admit that his initial impression of Tony Stark was too superficial. At first, he thought Stark was a cold yet kind-hearted, exceptionally intelligent superhero. But the more he got to know Tony Stark, the more he realized Stark was a sharp-tongued jerk!

"Ahem! So, this is the vampire hunter you mentioned? He certainly looks impressive!" Peter Parker, sensing the tension and feeling a twinge of his Spider-Sense, quickly changed the topic, looking at Blade with a smile.

"Yes, he's the vampire hunter. We invited him to discuss dealing with vampires. Of course, he won't be acting alone; we'll be helping too..." Tony Stark nodded, his smile fading as he turned serious.

"After all, we don't know how many vampires are out there. To avoid a situation like the last Spider-Man incident, we need to prepare and proceed with caution."

Originally, after their recent confrontation with official institutions, Tony Stark and the Avengers had numerous issues to address—not just the Venom situation but also repairing leaked information and negotiating with official bodies for more rights for the Avengers.

However, once Robert mentioned the vampire threat, Tony Stark decisively shifted most of the Avengers' focus to dealing with vampires. Negotiations with official bodies were left to Steve and Bucky Barnes, given Steve's extensive experience.

"Yes, with our previous experience, we need to be more careful this time!" Peter Parker agreed, following Tony Stark's lead to move past the previous mockery of Morbius. He became serious, thinking that no vampire should be able to counter Venom.

Even if bats could use ultrasound, Peter hadn't heard of vampires having such abilities. Morbius didn't have them, and Robert's footage of Blade's fight with March showed no such powers.

This made Peter eager to prove himself, especially since he hadn't played a significant role in the recent battle with the official institution. With Venom, his combat effectiveness should surpass previous levels, yet his performance hadn't met expectations.

Peter wanted to reclaim his lost achievements and show his true capabilities.

"I got some inspiration today and plan to design armor specifically to counter vampires. Interested in trying it?" Tony Stark's eyes gleamed as he glanced at Blade and asked Peter.

"Just let Jarvis control it. Whether we're in the armor or not makes little difference. Being inside might even hinder our fighting abilities. Besides, our combat styles don't suit the armor," Peter Parker immediately declined Tony Stark's offer, knowing the armor would be cumbersome for them.

Most Avengers had their unique combat styles and strengths. Even Steve and Bucky had their specialized fighting methods, which the armor couldn't fully accommodate.

Moreover, if an armor could be controlled by Steve or Bucky, why not just let Jarvis handle it, freeing up a combatant?

Wearing the armor was only suitable for someone like Tony Stark, who had no inherent combat skills but excellent reflexes. For superpowered individuals, it wasn't necessary to use the armor.

Even if their combat abilities were slightly less than the armor, adding their powers still offered more flexibility and strength.

"Alright, I'll focus on developing the anti-vampire armor. You can work with Eric on specialized weapons since your abilities might not be as effective against vampires as specially designed weapons," Tony Stark nodded, not pushing further, and looked at Blade.

"Eric, you can request any materials from Jarvis, who will procure them for you. Once I finish the prototype of the anti-vampire armor, we'll discuss how to kill more vampires effectively!"

"Sure, no problem!" Blade had no objections. Having joined the Avengers and received Tony Stark's substantial funding, he intended to deliver results, especially since the targets were vampires he despised.

Soon, everyone returned to their tasks. Martian Manhunter continued studying Venom, while Peter Parker hovered around Blade, curious about the various anti-vampire weapons Blade was crafting from the materials he received.

"So, what's in silver that makes it effective against vampires? It seems to have some supernatural power, but why hasn't anyone figured it out?" Peter Parker asked, examining silver bullets under a microscope but finding no answers.

"Silver isn't just effective against vampires; it also works on werewolves," Blade explained, shaking his head at the different version of Spider-Man before him.

Blade initially found it hard to adjust to Peter Parker's behavior but soon got used to it, remembering that even superheroes were just people with extraordinary abilities. Their behavior wouldn't be drastically different from ordinary people.

If someone with powers thought they were above humans and sought to rule over them, they wouldn't become a superhero.

"Silver affects werewolves too? Wait, does that mean all dark creatures fear silver? Do demons fear silver too?" Peter Parker's eyes lit up, asking eagerly.

"I'm not sure. Some demons took extra damage from silver, but others didn't react. Unlike vampires and werewolves, all of whom are affected by silver," Blade recalled from his past experiences.

During the dimensional rift incident, Blade had fought many demons, noting that while most weren't vulnerable to silver, his superior strength and speed allowed him to kill even high-level demons, earning significant rewards from various bounty and official agencies.

"Wait, some demons fear silver, some don't. Do you think there's a connection?" Peter Parker suddenly speculated, looking at the others.

"The Saiyan mentioned that different vampire and werewolf lineages, while not originating from the same source, evolved similarly, with werewolves and vampires being their ultimate forms."

"Could it be that demons vulnerable to silver share a power source with werewolves and vampires? A source where all creatures are inherently weak to silver?"

Peter Parker's sensitivity to biological defects, heightened by Venom's weaknesses, led him to this hypothesis. Venom's vulnerability to sound and fire wasn't unique but a genetic trait of all symbiotes.

Hence, Peter theorized that a similar genetic trait might be present in vampires, werewolves, and some demons, stemming from a common power source.

"It's possible!" Morbius's eyes sparkled, agreeing with Peter's hypothesis. Since joining the Avengers, Morbius had encountered various dimensional powers and understood them well, unlike Blade, who knew about dimensions but not their specifics.

"I'll inform the Saiyan. This information might be useful!" Peter Parker quickly disappeared, avoiding contacting the Saiyan in front of Blade, as Blade and Deadpool weren't official Avengers yet.

Unlike Deadpool, who knew Robert's true identity and many details about him, Blade had only met Robert briefly and knew little about his role in the Avengers.

"So, the Saiyan is the one who transforms into a giant ape? Is he really an Avenger? He doesn't seem human..." Blade asked Morbius after Peter left, still crafting his equipment.

"Hehe, he's more human than us..." Morbius shrugged. Knowing Robert better now, Morbius no longer feared him as much. Familiarity had replaced his initial dread.

"He's an ally of the Avengers, not a publicly listed member, but his strength is among the top in the Avengers. We often need his help with extraordinary events..."
