Chapter 26: The Car Theft Tool!

Zhang Cheng was astounded to see that a group of thugs had taken over the police station. Since acquiring a handgun, he had considered visiting the police station, knowing that firearms were precious in the apocalypse. However, he assumed that any weapons would have been looted by now. As he had suspected, the police station was now occupied by a gang of criminals, including gamblers and gang members initially arrested before the apocalypse. During the chaos of the outbreak, with infected officers and prisoners, the remaining police had released these criminals for help, only to be overpowered and disarmed by them later.

Observing quietly from amidst the zombies, Zhang Cheng noticed that in addition to the three men clearing zombies, there were seven more upstairs, all armed with guns and melee weapons. He estimated there were at least ten members in this gang, each armed. Contemplating the acquisition of these weapons and the off-road vehicles and villas of the rich, Zhang Cheng saw an opportunity to strengthen his survival prospects in the apocalypse. However, he knew he couldn't confront these armed thugs head-on.

Looking at the locked iron gate, Zhang Cheng muttered about needing to open it, somehow using the zombies to his advantage. After leaving the alley, he rode his motorcycle in search of a repair shop, temporarily setting aside his search for luxury items like abalone and bird's nest. Eventually, he found a small bike repair shop with apparent signs of the outbreak's chaos.

Inside, Zhang Cheng searched for a manual hydraulic rebar cutter, a perfect tool for his plan. Fortunately, he found it quickly. As he was about to leave, he heard faint noises from the upper floor of the shop, typically used as living quarters. Approaching the staircase, the noises became more pronounced, indicating someone was near the stairs. Could there be survivors upstairs? Zhang Cheng cautiously moved towards the source of the sound.
