“Clove! For the last time, you cannot superglue someone’s lunchbox shut!”

“But he said I look like a starving bear,” mini Clove replied, twirling her pigtail like she hadn’t just started World War III in the cafeteria.



From a young age, Clove had a talent for finding herself at the epicenter of every schoolyard squabble, prank, and questionable decision. And growing up only sharpened her skills. Now, she doesn’t even need to try. Trouble practically invites itself.



“Ma’am, you can’t just park in the fire lane.”



“Why not? There’s no fire right now.”



“It’s illegal!”



“Relax. If there’s an emergency, I’ll move it.”



“Ma’am—”



Cue fire truck sirens in the distance.



“I said I’ll move if there’s an emergency!” Clove yells, rolling up her window in ignorance.



(Minutes later)



[Phone rings]



“…Hello?”



“Hey mom.”



“Who is this?”



“It’s Clove, your daughter?”



“…Clove?…why are you calling me from a police station?”
