Chapter 18- Special student

Aldin Randell

The next day the class was distributed according to attribute they all left for their classes while I went to the arena where I found the principal, professor Bloom and professor Kyle waiting for me.

"The three of us will be teaching you from now to the end of the semester." The principal said.

"I will teach you light." The principal said.

"I will teach you water." Professor Penelope said.

"I will teach you earth." Professor Kyle said.

"And right now we start with light." The principal said. "And today I'll be teaching you light concentration."

"I already know how to." I said and cast tiny star. I could immediately see the shock in all their faces

"Then we can jump to the second step. Although that was light concentrate it was based of your mana. Now instead use your mana to concentrate the sunlight instead of forming it with you mana as the base."

And so I did it required a bit of effort but I could finally do it. It was hotter than my usual spell.

"Good since you've done that already I'd like you to trying imagery. To do this it would need you to separate the different colours of light and form images using them." He said.

"Okay." I answered.

I tried splitting it into colours but it would only split the light in half. Even after using a lot of effort I was still unable to do so.

"I can see your struggling but you should know that your not supposed to tear it using force but rather break down it's components to their simplest form."

And despite his advice I was unable to do anything.

"since your clearly struggling with that we'll embark on it tomorrow" the principal said.

"Now it's my turn." Professor Bloom said. "I know your already familiar with ice magic but have you thought of what is in between the two stages. Normally it would be taught before proceeding to ice magic but since you skipped that already we'll just have to yo through it."

"For ice magic water users just need to concentrate water to obtain ice. Today I'll be teaching you how to make rubber. This us when water is fully ice and van easily be bent. Let me give you an example."

And in. Her hand she formed an orb. "Have a fell she said. And in touch it was soft and somewhat firm.

"Now give it a try." She said.

To do this I needed to close my eyes not to apply too much pressure. I formed a an orb just like her and used the slightest pressure I could but it was not firm enough and fell to the ground popping. I tried again and this time I carefully increased the pressure until it was just right and in my hand was a ball of rubbery water.

"Good, successful in only a few tries."

"Now its my turn," professor Kyle said.

" What I'm going to teach you is similar to what professor Bloom just taught you. Earth is thought to be rigid and can only be used in a solid form. What if I told you that it mud is also an extension of earth".

"And to form mud you don't necessarily need to have water present. To form mud you need to have great control over it, control its every movement."

"Like this." He said and from ground picked a piece of the earth and in his hands and formed it into an orb, the purpose was steady and delicate since instead of moving it in a fixed form he was using it just like water which meant that it was just a replication of water magic. I lost focus and still as he was explaining the concept took a piece of the ground and moved it like my ice arrows changing the earth from rigid to flaccid. I was now completely lost in thought when an idea came to mind. 'What if the same concept was applied to ice magic.' It thought to myself.

I immediately dropped the earth orb in my hand and formed a large orb of water that was big enough to even fit me and compressed it to the size of a man's head and using the newly learned concept begun to shape it to form a whip, as I got a feel of it, it had still retained it's hardness but had flexibility as well. But my deep concentration had been disrupted when the principal cleared his throat and that's when I remembered I was still in a class.

As I looked at there faces their was no anger apart from professor Kyle who's veins seemed ready to pop. But the rest seemed in a daze.

"I must have gotten carried away." I said shocking them all except Professor Bloom who pounced at me.

"How did you do that?" professor Bloom asked. Clearly she did not considering bending ice instead of forming rubber.

"It was actually what professor Kyle just taught only that this time I used it on water." And the next moment they were all staring at men like had scales all over my body.

"Since you seem to have a grasp of things why don't you keep on practicing as we head out for a minute.

Leon Corvus

'That kid is full of surprises. I didn't think he has such a grasp in magic.' I thought to myself.

"I don't think our methods of teaching him are sufficient." Professor Bloom said. "if we treat him just like the others we'll surely be blocking his path. He has the potential to stand at the pinnacle of magic."

" I agree with her on this." Professor Kyle said.

"You have a point, but the only thing we can do for now is tutor him, he will attend the Lorne kingdom ranking battle at the end of the year. Until then I'm going to ask you to teach him everything you know."

We let Aldin practice his concept for the remaining part of the day until he had a perfect grasp of it
