A rare gem

Prince Cassius chuckled, unsurprised that his older brother had anticipated his question. Ever since their childhood, his elder brother seemed to read his thoughts before he even spoke.

"How did you know I was going to ask that?" he inquired, a slight smile playing on his lips.

Killian shrugged, a hint of a smile touching the corner of his mouth. "It's quite evident."

Cassius laughed, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Well, well. I must say, you were always quite perceptive, my dear brother. So, tell me, who is the king, our father doubting?"

Killian turned serious as he remembered their father's words. "I can't reveal that to you. You know him. He asked me not to talk about it to you."

Cassius sighed out loud. "So, that means that he's doubting my wife?"

Killian's gaze turned icy. Before he could stop himself, the words were already out of his mouth. "She is not your wife yet!" he declared, his tone sharper than intended.
