Their past - IV

As Killian's mother gazed at the sweet, timid doll-like girl in front of her, her heart swelled with maternal affection. A warm smile graced her face as she beckoned the little girl closer. "You are so beautiful, my dear."

Amara blushed, and replied softly, "Thank you, Aunty."

"Are you hungry?" Killian's mother asked.

Amara was about to shake her head when her stomach let out a loud rumble. Instantly feeling embarrassed, she lowered her gaze and her cheeks flushed deeply. Killian's mother smiled reassuringly and gently patted her head. "Hold on, I'll get you something to eat."

"Killian, why don't you take your little friend and help her wash her hands and feet?" she instructed.

"Yes, Mother!" Killian exclaimed, eagerly grabbing Amara's hand and leading her further into the house, enthusiastically showing her all around. Amara quietly followed behind, her curious eyes exploring the room.
