Chapter Thirty six Sela's goodwill deal

A big light bulb šŸ’” glowed on Artha's mind when Sela offered the deal. What he had planned when he found he had trader job and what he had planned after repeated sales of potions to others, all were thrown aside. This plan was risky to the extreme, with high chance of him losing coins. Yet....his greed to make more money inside the game reared it's ugly head and whispered enticing things, painted a glorious picture. Poor sap, Artha. He succumbed to the clutches of greed and gave new option for Sela.

Instead of being an intermediary, he would purchase the weapon at the quoted price, no bargain. In returns, Sela should not ask what happened to it later on. If it was a normal situation, Sela would have agreed. This was far easiest way to get coins without any risk. But if Artha lost his shirt in the deal, he would come to hate her which was against what she wanted to do. After thinking for so long, she agreed.

To Artha, it was a way of experimenting. His 1 rose gold when he opened beginner's welcome chest had increased to three rose gold coins, so technically losing some silver coins would not hurt him much. He had purchased from NPCs the items worth more than a gold coin and it was just second day of the game. But it was investment and the chances of losing money was less but what he was planning this time might backfire and destroy all he had. Still...a crying child might get a chocolate but a poor crying child often gets a smack in the back. So was he poor enough to be smacked by fate? Or was there a bit of leeway?

As soon as he purchased the greatsword, he checked the XP needed to multiply them. The benefits of have upgraded status bar. Compared to rising the grade of the the item, multiplier consumed less XP but lesser XP used meant less multiplier factor. He might get 28 items instead of 32 or even 44. The XP needed to multiply the greatsword in hundreds , though it was trash grade was beyond his scope currently. He crunched some hypothetical numbers. It was still bearable if the multiplication factor was within fifty. If the weapon was of higher level or higher grades, the plan would have crumbled on itself and self detonated.

Then instead of calling Silent Night, he directly messaged Sun Lord. The deal now was no longer in the range of lower echelons and Sun Lord was one of the big players.

The chat record if released would have horrified others. Artha turned shameless, narcissitic, braggart, shy whatever was required to squeeze extra penny from him.

In the end, Sun Lord did not order huge number of greatsword at all. The reason - there were not many players using such weapon. Moreover, unless the weapons were of higher grades, under level 10, could be considered transition zone and would be out of favour soon. No need to pay extra for such thing. But the request he made at the end of the transaction, what an eye opener!

Sun Lord wanted to buy coins using credits and he was ready to pay even 50% more? Why? He needed weapons urgently. Higher leveled and of higher grades. Not the type Artha selling now. Without better weapons, his team of experts and elites could not progress faster. And where could he get these weapons? Kill bosses. It was sheer dumb luck that they found a boss in first day. They haven't found the second one yet. Find dungeons. Dungeons were great way to get weapons and equipments. Lastly, pay exoberantly to NPCs to open up their cache and provide better grade items. The amount needed was a lot more than they had at hand, inspite of all the members pooling their coins and gold farming units in the village handing over their earnings.

50% higher than the current price. It should be known that through there was no trading centre yet, there were some nosy parkers who calculated many things and decided the transaction price. Among them, the highly regarded one and considered benchmark was from the group called 'Money plant'. They would update the price twice a day minimum and that was considered the price of a coin.

It was just Artha's luck that previously the price he had negotiated was nearing the price set by that group. He found about that group only later. Better late than never though. Today's transactions were all based on the price quote by that group, so he had earned more. Considering the scarcity of coins currently, the price would rise again and here was a Lord who was ready to pay 50% more. Should he give in?

Should he try to swindle more? He could purchase the weapon himself and use multipler and sell it to different guilds. Or... he can buy low level weapons and upgrade them before selling. Unfortunately he could choose only 1 option - upgrade or multiply. And both options costed a lot of XP.

If only there was a way to get multipler bonus from game freely... What to do? The XP he had was no way near enough for either way.

Sun Lord sent another player to get the greatsword. After confirming the credits were deposited in his account, Artha used multiplier and sold the gloves.

After the Lord of money's order was fulfilled, he systematically contacted few guilds. The premium ones which didn't mind paying for worthy goods. After all they would not mind paying extra to progress faster.

While his mouth was working non-stop, his hands and feet were busy too. He gathered items, currently it was by easiest way to earn XP. He had to wheedle oops, wheel and deal for long time to dispose the remaining greatswords. It appeared that not many prefered such weapon even in guilds. Point to be noted for future sales. If he had put a stall, it could have been sold pretty fast unless he was asking for premium price. But this way, what he was earning was not coins but credits directly. What he didn't lack right now was coins. Credits was the real deal right now. He was not in the hurry to level up faster and leave the village. He probably wouldn't have leveled up before end of trial period, so better to gather credits rather than coins.

With that in mind, when he was in village, he purposefully visited Tavish's place to see what sort of weapon would pull even Sun Lord into tizzy.

Thankfully it was apprentice manning the shop. He was a nice guy. A bit talkative. As he had to work, repairing weapons and armours and stuff, he didn't get much free time. So he worked and chatted. To be heard above the noise in the background (repairing), all had to talk loud. Good thing was the soundproofing was great. Otherwise he would have been muted by NPCs manning the shops nearby.
