Artha's biggest deal on 2nd day of the game of
He finally upgraded his cloak to save his ass. The meeting place was first floor of bar where only rich and uber rich were relaxing. Kidding. Only scions and uber rich without a job were relaxing. These bunch were dangerous as they considered their face as the highest valuable object and if they felt humiliated even a bit, they would turn into rabid dogs and never let the player go. Artha prefered dealing with powerful but working people. They had bottom line. Don't touch it and you are safe.
Anyways, the place was filled with sharks, so hiding identity was a must. Apparently the otherside had similar ideas. They were also cloaked and nursing some sort of alcohol.
Though he knew one of them was Sun Lord, the God of money, he didn't know who was the second one. He had few guesses. It turned his guesses were wrong. It was not from Glorious Knights, Gloria's blessed or xxx from Xian.
It turned to be Baccara from Bloody Rose. Why was he shocked? Because Bloody Rose had no previous collaboration with Dragon Slayers. But Dragon Slayers had worked with Glorious Knights before and it was recognised as good partnership at that time. One of those 'forseer' in the forum had predicted few collaboration in early level. These forseers had no other job but to speculate on upcoming things. Some times they were right, more often they were wrong. However, it made interesting read. None of those forseers had seen this collaboration coming. Goes to show you can't trust all rumours and forseeing.
And Baccara had come for the meeting, not Chestnut Rose, his usual customer. Technically, Chestnut Rose should be coming to the meeting as she had more purchasing power. Baccara was the spearhead and face of the guild in this village. She came because she was more friendly with Sun Lord and these sorts of deals needed nice syncing between people. Not that she was alone here. Chestnut Rose was also nursing alcohol and watching the fun outside. She would swoop in if the deal was not favouring her guild. Obviously Artha had no idea of that and Sun Lord would naturally not mention it.
It was a strange set up. Three cloaked players sipping wine and staying silent. Finally, Artha had to open his mouth first. He didn't want to spend coins to stay longer inside the game. These people were probably using latest pods with extra few minutes thrown in as bonus. Heck, they would not mind spending coins if it turns into a contest.
" I assume you have watched me through out the day and now want to make a deal? Let's get to it. I don't have much time before logging off." Plain, simple, brutal. Yeah, I know you were spying on me, but I don't complain about that. Now, come to the matter.
Sun Lord started the conversation rolling. "Yes, we had you watched. To know your strengths and weakness. We can't make deals with weak people. It's stupid."
Artha nodded. What Sun Lord said was true. What's the use of making deals with someone so weak that he would break next second. Do you have to prop him up and save him just because there was a deal?
"So, now you know. I sell things to you people, kill few monsters occasionally, try to team up with few but don't do well when playing in teams too. I talk to NPCs and collect in maps. Nothing much."
Baccara started talking. Swear to all goodness in the world, Artha practically had ear orgasm. Her voice was melodious, soothing and with a hint of sweet. It was not cloying sweet, dripping honey etc. Probably most men would not like such voice. Artha was always a bit different when it came to personal choices. "But you are selling more things to us. It was just basic potions yesterday. But today the list has sleeping bags and greatswords too."
" What's the use? Your guilds didn't purchase much."
"Inspite of what you think, money doesn't just materialise for us too. What I want to know is is there a possibility of other items entering your catalogue?"
Artha nodded. He had purchased few items already. All he needed was some XP to multiply and sell.
Any preview of the list? Artha could only shrug. How can he know that? It entirely depends on market scarcity and XP he had at that time.
" Tell me about this deal then?"
" We want prefixed amount of potions to be delivered to us about 500 a day."
"Woah! Wait! You mean 500 for both of you together?"
" Don't be ridiculous, the order is seperate." Baccara snapped.
Sun Lord smiled." I think you have another misconception, my friend. It's 500 pots of red and blue separately. So, from both of us, we will be ordering 2000 potions each day."
" That's a huge order. However, my job hasn't leveled up that much conduct such transactions. And have you calculated the price. You paid twice the price of normal potions because the second set of potions costed twice. The third set costs even more, 6 times the original set prize. Add in bonus you have to throw and conversion fee, that's too much. You people are ready to spend so much for mere potions?" Artha was baffled. Through out the day, these guilds behaved as if they were doing charity when purchasing potions from him and now they were ready to drop credits in millions. What nonsense is this?
"What a money grubber? We would not pay 6 times the price obviously. We will calculate it at twice the price as it was today." Baccara was incensed. She was famous for her explosive temper, which turned opposite when she became an assassin. Then, she would be patient and biding the time.
"Look, I am noob and I acknowledge that I don't know much of this sort of games. But
You have to drop deliberate hints of market scarcity. And truthfully, he didn't have that many potions right now. His welcome bonus in potions was used up, mostly.
