Chapter Fifty

After delivering the sleeping bags to his customers, Artha rested back to his nook, to read the book. Zoya was his best bet to earn fast money. Potion making sounded more like chemistry or biology experiment, so he could try it. Granted that he could also try being blacksmith, he didn't have enough constitution, so he could get easily fatigued while forging or hammering. He was nearly half done in cook quest too. Once he became cook or chef or whatever that was, maybe he could use those things he had rescued while cleaning the trash. He was hopeless in designing clothes and stuff anyway. But may be it would be a bit different inside the game with premade designs and stuff. He should not give up that too.

But were there only these lifestyle classes? He already was a trader. It was not mentioned anywhere. Heck, he was not immortalized in the steele near the park either. When it comes to nitty gritty, a single profession can have so many branches. And each specialisation would be a lot different from other, though at the base, they were all same subject. Maybe there will be similar things in the game too?

Or else, how could someone make scrolls and things that were sold at Zumi's? Shame that Zumi categorically refused the path of apprenticeship.

The tome made interesting read. The annotations were even more interesting. He was engrossed in reading and emerged from it only when his timer beeped, reminding him that it was nearly log off time.

He sighed, he was really not ready to give up reading. But waste few coins to continue reading. Not a chance.

He got into his second room and it was lights out. Log off.

In the VR lobby, he just glanced through trending topics. He would read in detail later on. If he used this VR head gear longer, it would heat up a lot and he would suffer. The minimum would be signed hair, head gear sticking to his head at places. Worse would be the gear overloading. The worst would be overloaded gear dumping it's data to his brain and reseting itself. There were only few records of people surviving such scenario, all ending with debilitating and devastating brain damage.

Atharva could still use VR pod from Saint Augustine, present in his loft. If not for the reason that the VR pod was made exclusively for Saint Augustine and was completely academically oriented, he need not have purchased any VR gear to play the game.

He automatically hit max points to his village in the survey asked, as he had done previously. Well, he didn't have any preconceptions about the game and any pre formed ideas. And he didn't have any friends in other villages to compare. So the default marks given was max points to his village.

He completed another routine he had started after putting up the VR gears to charge, check the bank balance.

The previous days millions of credits, he didn't consider his own yet. Till the contract is completed, there was still a chance for it to fly away from him and take extras as interest to boot. But he was paid handsomely for inventory bags. He had sold enough potions and sleeping bags to count as petty change (compared to millions of credits).

Seeing so much money in the account at the beginning of the day, what better method to start a new day?

Today, he decided to celebrate. Who knows how long he could scam money from these guilds and as such? Anyways, he had already made some money. Best time to celebrate would be now. He even thought of investing some money on himself, but soon gave up. Sama, his sister, would be in charge of that and they would meet soon enough.

Maybe he should visit a thrift store to search for a suit. If his sister didn't get holiday break soon enough and his results got declared before she comes, he would have to attend meetings with the student uniform he had currently. ( A T shirt and a jeans pant. If he was lucky, the shirt would not be faded or stained and jeans would not be ripped naturally.)

Student uniform in student life showed that the person was so focused on studies that he didn't think of other things, atleast that was one of the justifications. Once out of student life, the same clothes would be labelled as being sloth and having no awareness. A big no when searching for a new job.

Ah, what to do? If he bought a suit even in thrift store, if it didn't work out, it couldn't be used by his brothers and it would become a waste. Should he risk it?

He didn't go to any of the cafeteria or vending machines in the college (his regular haunts) but walked around. The snippets he heard while walking showed that the game had become a huge hit.

Random passerby 1 - "I finally reached level 3 yesterday."

His jogging buddy, random passerby 2- "Really! How did you do that? It's so difficult to level up in the game. Even my buddies who played games before are crying that it's difficult to level up. All of us are still level 2."

Random passerby 3, who heard their talk - "Tell me about it. If not for the reason that tasks in the game gave XP, I would be still stuck in level 1, instead of present level 2."

Random passerby 1- " Ah! That's because your talent is weak. My talent is C rated. 0.5% critical hit. Atleast one in two hundred hits will be critical. And I am one armed swordsman, so my attack speed is quite high. And here is another deal. I learnt a skill which causes multiple attacks to monster. So, the chances of the monster getting critically hit is very high. I got scouted by few people, all with minimum C grade talent. It's wonderful to play with them and grinding monsters."

Random passerby 3 - " Ah! You lucky dog! You have C grade talent? You'll definitely be able to join better guilds and earn extras too. I heard those guilds treat their members a lot better, giving them latest weapons and skill books."

Random passerby 2- " I too wish I had C grade talent. There isn't a single C grade talent player in our group. No wonder, we are so slow to level up."

Random passerby 4 -" Hey! You are talking about , right? I watched those scenes in livestreaming of 'Handsome Ge wants to sing'. He was so handsome while fighting those monsters. I really thought he would die a few times."
