PROLOGUE

"Why do you want to become a criminologist?" . The officer asked Anna Anderson.

Richard, who was standing behind her observed her with huge admiration.

She was a beautiful woman with an oval-shaped face and a long neck, standing tall with an elegant posture.

Her pointed nose matched her defined cheekbones, and her dark skin made her even more striking.

Her long, silky hair framed her face, and her bright smile outshone her white teeth.

She had a slim and graceful body that made her presence noticeable.

She was almost out of the hall, having finished her registration, when she realized the administration officer was talking to her.

"I'm talking to you," the man said sternly.

Startled, she turned around and said, "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't realize you were talking to me. I want to become a criminologist because I'm passionate about catching criminals. Solving crimes requires strong problem-solving skills, and I want to become a great problem solver."

The man seemed impressed.

As she left the registration hall, Richard, who had also finished registering, quietly followed her.

He walked alongside her and introduced himself, "Hi, my name is Richard Robert."

She nodded, looking tired, and replied, "I'm Anna Anderson," offering her hand, which he shook.

He noticed how long her fingers were.

Luckily, Frederick Solomon, who was Richard's new roommate in their off-campus hostel, was also in the Criminology department which was the same department with his crush, Anna Anderson.

Richard would sometimes visit the department, but he never managed to meet Anna.

One evening, while Frederick was watching a movie on his laptop, Richard, who had just come back from the bathroom, sat down to apply cream and asked, "Do you know a lot of people in your department?"

"Only the really smart ones," Fred replied, not paying much attention.

Richard, showing more interest, asked, "Do you know a tall, beautiful lady with dark skin and long, silky hair?"

Fred, amused, said, "You like Anna too? Two other guys have mentioned her. Anna Anderson stands out in class because she always answers the lecturers' questions."

Richard smiled shyly. "I saw her at the registration hall and fell in love at first sight. I want her to notice me, but I'm not sure how to approach her."

"I can talk to her for you."Fred offered.

But Richard was nervous. "I'm scared. What if she doesn't feel the same way?"

"You're a good-looking guy. Anna Anderson would never reject you."

Months later...

When Richard came back from his lecture that Tuesday evening, he noticed a pair of women's shoes outside the house he shared with Fred.

Fred never brought girls over, so Richard was surprised.

When he entered the house, he found Anna and Fred watching cartoons on Fred's phone, looking very close.

Fred quickly introduced Anna, "Richard, meet my girlfriend. Anna, meet Richard, my awesome roommate."

Richard was shocked.

After Anna left, Fred walked her out, leaving Richard with many questions.

When Fred came back, Richard asked in disbelief, "Anna Anderson is your girlfriend?"

Fred sighed, feeling guilty. "I didn't plan on dating Anna because I knew you liked her first, but I couldn't help myself. She's so beautiful."

"Did you even talk to her for me?" Richard said, the hurt could clearly be heard in his voice.

"I wanted to bring you up when I talked to her, but I was too scared."

Richard was heartbroken, regretting that he hadn't taken the chance to connect with Anna when they first met at the registration hall.
