Episode 13.6 - End of Season 1

I sit on my bed, my gaze fixed on the two present, waiting to see who will be the first to inquire about what happened.

Tosa sits on my bed, a fact that doesn't particularly please me. Her tears have dried, but her gaze still looks troubled. Besides, she seems scared of the meeting with her brother.

Koro is leaning against the wall. His entire attention is on the brunette. But not to protect me from her in an emergency. Rather, because he is worried about her.

Something that doesn't exactly please me either. But Tosa works in the canteen and is also Otscharsan's sister. Unlike me, she is certainly well-known here and hasn't been here for just a few days. Still, I find it unfair.

The first to enter is Otscharsan.

As soon as the blonde enters, he rushes to his sister.

"What's going on here?" he demands to know from her. "What happened? Why did Koro call me here?"

But instead of answering, her gaze remains silently on the floor. Otscharsan's gaze shifts demandingly to Koro, who only raises his hands defensively. Next, his gaze moves to me, then back to his little sister.

"Tosa, please don't tell me she was right with her accusations!"

Koro is the only one who looks confused, while Tosa remains silent. But that gives her brother certainty.

"Why?" he demands from his sister. "Aren't you doing well here? You have all the freedoms, and I thought you were grateful to Torso for that."

His gaze rests directly on her, waiting for an answer. But no answer comes from Tosa.

"Some guy probably talked her into it," Koro interjects.

"If I get my hands on him!" Otscharsan clenches his right hand into a fist, which immediately starts trembling with anger. I have witnessed the relationship with his sister myself and how he reacts when it's about her.

"Please don't do anything to him." She looks at him pleadingly.

"Your beloved sister's heart loves this guy and doesn't believe that he just took advantage of her," Koro explains to him. "If you capture him, just bring Tosa along, then it will show if he only took advantage of her or if he truly loves her."

Otscharsan comes over to us and sits next to his sister on my bed.

"Oh, my little fool," he sighs, running his hand through her brown hair. "You fall in love and end up with someone like that." His gaze moves to me. "Are you at least okay?"

"Considering the circumstances, given that yesterday I was labeled a liar and today, for keeping silent, received thanks in the form of a murder attempt." I can't suppress it. Everything revolves around her, yet I am the one who was nearly killed. And I must confess, seeing them care more about Tosa makes me jealous.

Otscharsan sighs. "Janine, please forgive me for not believing you."

He turns his attention to his sister. His arm wraps around her shoulders, and he pulls her close. "You, little sister, can only hope that not much has happened, then the punishment probably won't be too severe."

Tosa says nothing, but her silence and troubled look seem to make Otscharsan suspect something terrible.

But he doesn't even get to ask. Before that, another person enters, the second one called to my infirmary.

Gasard's questioning gaze rests on the group. He seems silently asking for an answer.

Otscharsan is the one who starts the explanation.

"My sister apparently fell in love with the wrong guy and promptly did something utterly foolish."

"Oh," is all Gasard says.

"I'll take care of the guy first!" Otscharsan shouts. He jumps up from my bed, pulling Tosa with him. "You, my dear, are coming with me!" She nods before both leave the room.

Koro immediately fills Gasard in, and I add a few more details. Everything related to the attack in the shower, Kyle, who told the prisoner about my bracelet and attacked me in the infirmary. Especially that I went to Otscharsan first instead of him doesn't please him, but he also says he can understand my silence.

"Poor girl, you've been here just under two weeks and have found yourself in life-threatening situations so often," he says with a sigh. "I don't think it will continue like this." A smile crosses his lips with this sentence.

How much I wish he's right. Escaping death narrowly four times is enough for a lifetime.

Only one particular fact worries him. That Tarisa also died at Tosa's hand. He tells me that she was Torso's favorite protégé, and he is afraid to tell his friend.

What does that mean? I won't find out the answer today.

Kaia, who apparently gulped down the porridge, is also supposed to be in the infirmary but still has no permission to be in my room. The antidote was administered to her early enough so that nothing could happen to her.

Otscharsan came to see me again later in the day. Gasard ordered his sister not to leave her room until Torso returns. This Kyle is supposed to be in a part of the death zone where normal prisoners aren't allowed. Only when Torso returns will the trial of the two begin. He is the one who judges such incidents.

I am told by the blonde how Kyle's capture went.

The guy called Tosa a little, worthless slave who made everything up because he supposedly rejected her. According to him, she planned everything to incriminate him.

Only then did Tosa truly understand that he only took advantage of her.

After a while, I even feel sorry for her.

This Kyle is also said to be known as a rebel, whose parents died under Torso's regime. By former slaves who the ruler freed because they had to compete in brutal fights against each other. An underground event organized by Kyle's parents.

The stories I hear about this are cruel to my ears. How much I can understand Torso's behavior.

Gasard has also placed two warriors outside my room again. Koro and another warrior from Mike's team.

I don't encounter this Torso during this time. But maybe when I'm well again. I hope so, anyway.

But that will take a few more weeks.

So those were my first two weeks on the station.

I still can't see any sign of the boredom Otscharsan predicted. But maybe that's yet to come.

It can't get any worse, can it...?

But one can never say what the future will bring.
