I put my phone down on the kitchen table. It was after lunchtime and I still have not heard from Logan. He used to always be an early riser. I have no clue what was happening with him.
Grabbing my keys, I decide to just head out and go somewhere. I think a milkshake will lift my spirits, I need to be in a better mood.
Once in the car, I turn on the radio and head down the street. We have a nice little ice cream shop down the road. I park in a parking spot and I see a text from Logan.
Leaving now. His message reads.
Okay at the ice cream shop down the road. I text back.
Alright, I will see you soon. He texts back.
Getting out of the car, I shut the door behind me. I walk slowly inside, I feel so lost anymore in my relationship with Logan. I wish we just communicated together.
Opening the door to the shop, the sweet smell of ice cream fills my nose. I walk to the register because I already know what I want to order.
"One chocolate banana milkshake please."
"Okay, that will be three dollars," the girl behind the register says.
I give her my debit card and she hands me a receipt.
Moments later, I sit at the table drinking my milkshake. Looking out the window I see Logan walk in. He stops at the register and I know he'll be having the same thing.
Logan takes the seat across from me. The first thing I notice is he is wearing sunglasses.
I sip my milkshake, trying to find the right words to say, but I have no idea what the right words are.
"You're quiet,'' he says.
"Yeah, sorry."
"What's wrong?" He asks.
The lady brings Logan's milkshake to our table. "Thanks, darling," he tells her. The girl's face turns bright red.
"Nothing is wrong." This was the moment to open communication and I blew it.
Logan bites his lip. He does this when he is aggravated. " I am going to the bathroom, you can think about it until I am back," he tells me.
I watch as Logan leaves. Now I feel annoyed. Once Logan is out of sight, I hear his phone alarm. Picking it up, I notice he has a text message. This would be a big evasion of privacy. No, don't do this, just set the phone down.
I ignore my inner thoughts. I know I shouldn't read his texts. I got some good shit. Come over tonight. The message reads. I see the contact labeled with the name Delilah.
Logan has never mentioned Delilah. Is he cheating on me?
Getting up from my seat, I couldn't face him. The first reason is because I know he's been lying to me and two I went behind his back and looked at his phone. I walk quickly to my car. Once I am inside, I quickly turn over the engine and drive away.
I pull into the college campus. I decide to study in the library for a while. Luckily my backpack was left inside the car. I need to clear my head. Getting out of the car, I hear my phone ring. I know it's Logan calling.
Walking across the campus, I see a lot of things going on. The drama theater classes are recording scenes for movies. The choir was practicing singing and the Cardio drumming class was working out with their balls.
Once inside the library, I sit at the table next to a huge open glass window. I pull out my math notes. I hear my phone beep. Which I knew was a text message.
I glance down at my phone. Tilly, I can explain that message. Logan wrote.
I take a deep breath. Then do. I type but delete the words before I send them. I want to know I do, but I feel so hurt. Is he Keeping secrets for me?
