The Hero's Return

"Yowan?"

He propped up on his elbows with shaken eyes and, after his initial shock, narrowed them towards his tackler. The next second, he held down 'Yowan' in a choke hold, golden eyes looked up at him in faint surprise.

"I-it's me!"

Sodifery's eyes searched, but kept his pretense of hostility, a forearm against Yowan's throat.

"Sodi! Stop!"

A different voice came running towards them, and this time it was Reas.

"You idiot! Yowan just came back but you're going to kill him for real at this rate!"

Behind Reas was Lopal, shouting from a place of gathered drift wood and fireplace.

"Pfft! Look at his face!" Lopal said as she came jogging. "I've never seen him so surprised in my life!"

"I've never seen him wanting to kill us this badly in my life..." Reas said, pulling Sodifery away from the mage.

Yowan coughed heavily, and nodded while hitting his chest.

"Hahahah! He looks broken! Ugh…" Lopal said while holding her belly, but later groaned in pain.
