Chapter-4: Cultivation talent test

In the following days, Feng Xuanyi stayed obediently on the spacecraft. After landing, he resided in a temporary disciple's room, interacting only briefly with Ye Jiusi without any unnecessary actions. Xue Yanshuang seemed to ignore him as well and did not seek him out.

One morning, as the sun slowly rose in the sky, Feng Xuanyi and others were brought to a spacious square. The ground of the square was paved with flawless white jade, creating a sense of purity. In front of the square stood a majestic hall made of green stones, at this moment, the hall gates were tightly closed and with a huge plaque bearing the vigorous characters "Tai Chi Hall."

Nine enormous jade chairs were placed in front of the hall, each with a different pattern on the top of the backrest—flames, gourds, and a particularly large one with a Tai Chi pattern.

At this moment, by Feng Xuanyi's side were dozens of children of similar age. These young boys and girls were all around ten years old, and they had never seen such a celestial demeanor before. Some were in astonishment, and others nervously looked around, yet no one dared to speak.

On the periphery of these young boys and girls were young men and women, dressed in blue robes and adorned with jade crowns. They stood in orderly formation on both sides of the square, their expressions solemn. Amidst the misty clouds, each of them appeared like celestial beings, exuding an otherworldly aura.

Gazing at this familiar yet unfamiliar scene, Feng Xuanyi couldn't help but be lost in thought for a moment. Various emotions flickered across his face. Since his departure in the previous life, he had never returned to the Wen Tian Sect. Unexpectedly, in this life, due to a twist of fate, he found himself standing once again within its grounds.

The crowd didn't have to wait for too long, the doors of the Tai Chi Hall slowly opened, and more than twenty people walked out. These people varied in height, build, and gender, representing the various hall masters and their disciples of the Wen Tian Sect. After stepping out of the hall, nine of them took their seats on the giant chairs in front of the hall, while the others stood behind them.

The disciples in the square instantly lined up and bowed, saying in unison, "Disciples respectfully welcome the Sect Master and the Hall Masters." Some clever young men and women also joined in, shouting, "Greetings to the immortals."

The other children seemed to awaken from a dream, one after another bowing in salute. In the midst of the crowd, everyone witnessed the authoritative voice coming from the central figure, calmly saying, "No need for excessive courtesy." Upon hearing this voice, some bolder young men and women raised their heads to look, including Feng Xuanyi.

Nine figures with diverse appearances, both male and female, were observed, most of them possessing an otherworldly charm and a refined demeanor. The one at the center had a tall stature, adorned in a pure white Daoist robe, with eyes that gleamed like torches, exuding a commanding presence without anger. It is none other than the renowned Sect Master of the Wen Tian Sect, the Immortal Guang Huan, known throughout the world.

Feng Xuanyi gazed at the Immortal Guang Huan, his eyes reflecting a myriad of complex emotions. The Immortal Guanghuan, being directly stared at, paid it no mind, assuming that this worldly youngster had not seen much and was nothing out of the ordinary. After all, there were quite a few young men and women like him, Feng Xuanyi blended in without standing out.

At this moment, Xue Yanshuang sat calmly in the third position on the right, wearing a white palace gown that complemented her exquisite beauty, akin to a celestial being. However, her demeanor was exceptionally cool, making it challenging for others to approach her, yet accentuating her as if she were a fairy descended to the mortal world.

Her unparalleled beauty drew the gaze of most young boys and girls present. She seemed accustomed to it all, maintaining a calm and unruffled demeanor.

Feng Xuanyi felt a pang of bitterness seeing that she didn't even glance at him. However, remembering that she had always been this way in the past, he decided not to dwell on it.

He then turned his attention to the man seated on the far left of the Immortal Guanghuan. This individual is in the prime of middle age, he exudes a tranquil demeanor, his long hair cascading down like a graceful waterfall. His countenance is serene yet resolute, with profound and spirited eyes. Clad in a deep blue robe adorned with golden borders.

This person is none other than Luo Qingfeng, the master of Feng Xuanyi in his past life, and concurrently the lord of the Infinite Hall. Feng Xuanyi, in a daze, feels as if he's dreaming. However, being able to see his master so vividly, even if it were a dream, he was reluctant to wake up.

His lips quiver slightly as he murmurs, "Master..."

Could it be that I've truly returned to the past? Is all of this a dream or reality? Why am I inexplicably back to the moment I first entered the Wen Tian Sect? Or is it that I am currently trapped within the confines of a dream?

Just as Feng Xuanyi is engulfed in self-doubt, a dignified voice from above resonates. "I am the Immortal Guanghuan, the Sect Master of the Wen Tian Sect, representing the sect to welcome all young friends."

"All of you are the proud sons and daughters of the heavens, selected from various places and tested to meet the entry requirements of our Wen Tian Sect."

"After the final test later, you will be officially admitted to our sect and become the backbone of Wen Tian Sect in the future."

Pausing for a moment, he continued, "Let me give a brief introduction to our Wen Tian Sect."

"Our sect has been established for thousands of years, divided into nine halls, each possessing its unique techniques. Each hall has its own excellence."

"After the tests, you will be classified into four ranks—A, B, C, and D—based on your spiritual roots, and the hall masters will make their selections."

"Later, disciples will bring the measuring instruments, and you will step forward for testing. Do you all understand?"

All the young boys and girls answered in unison, "Understood."

"Yun Ze, you will oversee the spiritual measurement for this session," Immortal Guangling nodded and instructed.

At this moment, a young and handsome figure stepped forward. He was elegant, almost like a celestial being. Yun Ze saluted the Immortal Guang Huan and said, "Yes, Master."

Turning to face the young disciples, Yun Ze waved his hand, and a massive instrument appeared in the square. This apparatus is supported by a base made of an ancient amethyst crystal. The base is engraved with mysterious runes and intricate patterns. At the center of the base, a transparent crystal sphere is suspended, within which seems to exist a miniature starry sky, with stars twinkling. On one side of the device, there is a touch panel embedded with small crystals.

Yun Ze announced, "This is the Spiritual Measurement Instrument. When I call your name, you only need to gently touch the crystal and it will measure your spiritual roots."

"First up, Wang Dafu."

A chubby boy eagerly raised his hands, exclaiming, "I'm here!"

Wang Dafu hurried to the instrument, placing his hands on the small crystal. Soon after, the crystal ball lit up with faint green lights. As the green light gradually filled the entire crystal ball, Yunze nodded, recording the information, and said, "Wang Dafu, Wood Spirit Root. Ranked in Grade B Middle!"

He waved for Wang Dafu to return to the lineup.

Next, Yunze called, "Zhao Yangming!"

"Here!" a young boy from the crowd responded.

The testing proceeded in an orderly manner like this, with each child having experience in similar tests. However, this time, it was more detailed and comprehensive.

"Liu Haoran, Grade B Upper"

"Zhou Mengxue,Grade A Lower"

"..."

Not long after, Yunze called out, "Ye Jiusi!"

It was Ye Jiusi's turn. Feng Xuanyi and Ye Jiusi exchanged a glance. Feng Xuanyi whispered, "Go for it!"

As the two of them joined halfway, neither Feng Xuanyi nor Ye Jiusi had undergone such tests. However, Feng Xuanyi knew Ye Jiusi's cultivation aptitude was outstanding.

Ye Jiusi nodded at Feng Xuanyi and walked out of the crowd. With a perturbed yet anticipatory mood, Ye Jiusi gently extended his hand towards the small crystal. As his palm touched the crystal, the suspended crystal ball in the center suddenly emitted a dazzling emerald green light.

Yunze's eyes lit up, and the people in the field exclaimed in waves. This was currently the most brilliant light.

"Ye Jiusi, Wood Spirit Root, Rank A Upper!" Yunze shouted with a smile. He nodded friendly towards Ye Jiusi.

Ye Jiusi showed a slight smile on his face and quickly walked back to Feng Xuanyi's side. Feng Xuanyi also gave him a faint smile and said, "Well done!"

Yunze then called out, "Feng Xuanyi!"

Feng Xuanyi quickly responded, and Ye Jiusi quietly patted his shoulder as encouragement.

Afterward, Feng Xuanyi walked forward silently, and couldn't help but smile bitterly in his heart, "It seems that my cultivation talent is going to surprise them again." He reluctantly placed his hands on the spiritual testing device.

The instrument emitted a faint light with great difficulty, resembling a candle flickering in the wind as if it could extinguish at any moment. The light turned out to be colorful, but due to its faintness, it was barely noticeable without careful observation.

Yun Ze couldn't help but be stunned, rubbing his eyes in disbelief. He looked at the device carefully, confirmed everything was in order, and then shouted in a somewhat strange tone:

"Feng Xuanyi, miscellaneous spiritual root, Grade D Lower."
