Just Trying to Use You

"Elijah Martinez gently draped his coat over Avery Miller's delicate shoulders, removing it from his own frame. Avery's cheeks flushed a faint red, casting an embarrassed glance at their companions. 

Ella Jackson and Jessica Wilson tactfully averted their gazes, leaving only Sarah Wilson to tease Avery with a naive grin.

Avery modestly accepted the coat from Elijah, her haste earlier in the day with Sarah Wilson leaving her without her trench coat. 

As the evening darkened, the chill of the night air set in. Yet, enveloped in Elijah's coat, a sudden warmth embraced her.

"Thank you," she uttered, deeply moved by his kindness, especially knowing she was expecting another's child. His unwavering support in such circumstances surprised and touched her deeply.
