Eventually, she lifted her head, her eyes regaining the sparkle of yesteryears, as if the storm had passed without leaving a trace, as if she remained that innocent girl, still deeply in love with him. 

 

She offered him a slight smile, albeit a tad strained due to the pain from the wound at the corner of her mouth, making it less natural. 

 

She smiled as though nothing had happened, as if today was meant for a surprise visit to him, erasing all the betrayals, the accident, the force, and the slaps as if they never existed. 

 

She was here because she missed him, her love for him unwavering!
