Forgiveness

Ella Jackson had tried to find out what was wrong, but Sarah remained silent, isolating herself in her room, her cries of despair heart-wrenching.

 

Later, Elijah visited her, taking her out to enjoy the sunshine. Despite the chill in the air, that day was unexpectedly warm, the sunlight bathing them in a comfortable warmth.

 

Since his arrival, Sarah had been quiet, no longer breaking down into tears as she had in the previous days, her sadness overwhelming.

 

The two spent a long time in the hospital's small park, surrounded by other patients and occasionally, visiting family members wandering around.

 

Sarah had become much quieter since her surgery. Previously restless, she now could sit quietly beside him, lost in thought, silent and introspective.

 

On their way back, suddenly, a person charged at them, screaming madly, knife in hand, and hurling insults at doctors, some too harsh to bear hearing.
